Singapore cuisine in general is a mix of multiple cultures. That's why it's impressive that they still maintain the uniqueness of each specific cuisine. In the past few days, I have been fond of local Chinese food specifically what they call "mixed rice".
This is a type of food stall where the dishes are pre-cooked for you to choose. There are moments where I feel pressured to buy a dish to eat because there are so many choices.
What increases the pressure is when the line is long and there are many people waiting after you choose what to buy. That's why the stall owner who manages this food stall is impressive because in most cases only one person does everything. The stall owner cooks the dishes, takes orders, serves the food, and is also the cashier. There are also stall owners who hire their assistants to be cashiers but still the bulk of work falls under the owner's responsibilities. It's a tough job to be very honest.
Aside from the mixed rice meals, I also got myself a sliced fish noodle soup. This is a very subtle tasting dish that's why it's a type of food that I would eat if I'm not feeling well.
And of course, I also had Milktea with ice or Teh Ping!
