Yoyoyo Runners Merry Xmas!
I’d been waiting for a while to do 1K interval reps, and I finally scheduled them on Christmas Day.
In the days leading up to it, I had a recovery run (30' at 6:30/km) and an easy run (5K at 6:30/km).
I’m really happy these days, since I’m back at my parents’ place for the holidays. That also means I get to do my workouts with my sister, who’s been running for a few years and helps me a lot with training in general. 🎄🏃♂️💪
As you can see, the scenery in the background really inspires you to keep running and not give up, no matter how much I felt like it at some point. 🏃♂️🌄
Workout Timeline:
- 3K Warm Up (6:30 → 6:00 → 5:30 /km)
- 2'30'' R
- 3x(1000 (4') + 400 (2'30''))
- 3K Cool Down (20')

More details:
The first rep felt a bit rough. On the second one, it started getting tough toward the end, so during the recovery I didn’t jog the 400m as planned and walked a bit instead.
On the last rep, I honestly reached a point where I thought about stopping (around 600–700m), but once I hit the final straight I told myself I had to push. In the end, I got it done — with a few shouts to let it all out.
I think that if I’d gone with a 2'3'' static rest from the start, instead of easy jogging, the reps would’ve come out cleaner. Still, I can say I tested my limits a bit.
We keep pushing forward! 💪🏃♂️🔥
