Today I am here with another recipe, home recipe. I have mentioned before that I am not a good cook and I can cook that food which I can eat actually, totally home-style food, nothing fancy.
I know basic sweet-sour chicken is different and many people cook it following their own style. This is my style and I hope you will like it.
This is a very easy tasty recipe and it will take only 30 minutes if you have available ingredients at home. Only very few ingredients needed for this sweet-sour chicken. Also, it's a budget-friendly recipe and you can make it anytime.
Sweet & Sour Chicken..
Let me share the recipe :
All You need :
- Chicken
- Onions
- Vegetables ( I have used Seasonal Mixed Vegetables)
- Lemon Juice
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Cinnamon (optional)
- Salt
- Oil
- Sugar
- Tomato puree
Chicken Seasoning:
- Lemon juice
- Turmeric
- Soy sauce
- Salt
- Garam Masala/BBQ Mixture
- Peper
Preparation:
In the first step, I normally boil all the vegetables with some salt and paper.
Then I chop the onions, basically, I cut them into two styles, big slices and small pieces for little gravy.
Now it's time for seasoning and marinating chicken. I cut the chicken into small pieces and washed them with some salt properly. Then I add a little bit of salt, pepper, ginger, garlic powder, BBQ mixture, soy sauce, and lemon juice and then mixed them well. Then keep it for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, chicken is ready for little fry. I basically fry chicken before cooking.
After that, I take away all the chickens into a plate and I put onions in the same hot oil. When it turns into golden, I add garlic, ginger, and cinnamon and a little bit water for gravy.
Then I start adding boiled vegetables, leftover big slices onions, and cook them. After 2-3 minutes of cooking, I add tomato puree, lemon juice, and start mixing well and cook.
When the gravy is ready I slowly add chickens and mixed them well for sometimes. Then I add some sugar (according to my taste) and mix properly.
After mixing, I put some water into the mixture and cook it for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, chicken is ready and it will look like this.
Now sweet and sour chicken is ready... Don't keep too much gravy...
You can use any type of vegetables and skip spices. Basically you can create it in your own style and use any type of vegetables available at your home. Basically, this is a tasty quarantine recipe and if you want to taste something exceptional, you can try it.
You can take it with plain rice or bread during lunch. Try to balance sweetness and sourness, it's very important. Too sweet or sour doesn't taste good.
