The hot and spicy, who couldn't resist the chili? The long red glossy color is dangerous if not seen as the secret power. I was once a victim; I was burned with capsaicin; careless or mindless, maybe comes in time. But I can't resist the passion; that's why I planted some available forever, nor harvesting them is a quest; don't mind the past, we learn from our mistakes. Captain burn won't stay forever.

The best thing about rabbits is that they give cheap but powerful dung fertilizing enzymes; that was my secret, so I could harvest and plant foods. One of the beneficiaries of my rabbits is this plant. And the cycle repeats as the chili gives back his red, hot spicy fruits. The next day I will turn them into chili flakes in oil. Yummy….
What is Capsaicin?
You will never wish to experience this one. I experienced this because of my negligence and maybe blank-minded. Capsaicin is what makes the chili spicy; somehow, that was the defense mechanism of the plant so that predators won't attack or destroy them.
Also, the level of capsaicin differs from the variety of pepper. The Carolina Reaper is still leading. I also have experience with Reaper, but too much for me; I can't take it inside.
At first, I was blank to clean up the pepper seeds with my bare hand. Just so normal. Not until it took some minutes, and I could feel the burning sensations that gave my hand a feeling of sparking coal. I tried all the remedies, but I was again dumb. I dump my hands in water, which results in more spread out of the capsaicin.
It takes hours of uncomfortable feelings until it lasts at least.
Cayenne Pepper
Cayenne Pepper
Also called Thai pepper, this is suit for my level. Just moderate hot flavor; also, it grows in my environment. I also have some Labuyo and native ones, yet just the Cayenne is available. Labuyo is food for some birds like sparrows. For the native, we used its tops in dishes, so most of the time just grows shoots, not fruits.
The red color shone like they were inviting me to get them, and it was time to gather the fruits. Matured sometimes also could result in rottings and fungi manifestation that could affect the future fruits. So if you have a garden and only choose the good fruits? No, I suggest getting all the ripens to avoid insects and pests.
I learned my lesson, so even harvesting, I shall be careful now. I used scissors and pans to gather the fruits. Also, my mother always reminds me to take care after the capsaicin incident.
Cutting and placing them in the pan with no contact is better than sorry.
I get all the matured fruits and wait again next month for another harvest. The best thing about Cayenne is it grows all year round. Most of the chili could do that,
I also encountered diseases on my pepper like sapping insects and rotting fungus, the measure I use is to cut and dispose of the infected one, could also result in regrowth of the plant.
Do you like chili pepper? It's appetizing indeed that we taste the hottest, especially when we pick or turn those to oil-based. I'm excited; maybe tomorrow I will make my chili oil.
Inflation makes us poorer and poor, so I plan to plant more vegetables in the next week or month. Who knows, I will blog those up. Thanks for reading…
