Sometimes we are all in such a rush to explore more and more and spend as little time with us as possible, that we end up missing some interesting places that perhaps we won't ever see again.
After almost losing our heads during our stay at Tulcea where we tried our best to cover as much as possible with our journeys, we thought that the moment to finally take a day off came.
Personally, my trips are always quite intense and exhausting as I'm never going on a vacation to actually relax but to spend as little time as possible in the room rented and explore the surroundings as best as I can and only have a day off if it's really needed.
But Tulcea was an exception from more points of view.
One of the main reasons was that it represented my first trip with my boyfriend and we did feel like we should have some relaxing moments too along with creating new memories exploring the surroundings.
But we also had our trip in a period with pretty weird weather outside so jumping from 34°C and lots of sun to a dark sky with cold air was not surprising.
And after we began our day walking in town and trying to get a tan in the first part of the day, we thought that we should dedicate the rest of the day to the SPA center since it's an experience that we don't get to enjoy too often.

The hotel booked by our agency to have us during our stay was Hotel Delta 4* which is actually part of a hotel chain entitled quite suggestive "Delta" but where the one that became home for us was the newest one.
Back in 2019 when I visited Tulcea for the first time with my family, we stayed at a different hotel but which was pretty close to this one. However, that one had a fairly good reputation dating since the communist period, but as respected as it was during the communist period, as badly it turned in the last few years with poor cleaning conditions, uncomfortable beds with mattresses that haven't been replaced for years, and so on.
So with that thought in mind, I was very careful about the hotel we pick from the options offered by our agency.

While Hotel Delta 4* was looking quite awesome from the outside, with an amazing view to the seafront, an eye-catching terrace, a generous breakfast included in the price paid, and a SPA center, the rooms represented the first disappointment for us.
It's not that they looked bad or too communist, but the cleaning conditions were deplorable. And don't get me wrong, nor I or my boyfriend are some demanding guys as we both do a pretty good job building an empire from little things, but we literally weren't able to open up the window due to the huge spiders outside, the bedding was dirty from the previous people who rented the room and the single trash can available was rusty and covered in weird surfaces.
The problem with the trash can was fixed the next day when the cleaning ladies entered the room and replaced it, but none of the other two situations which were even more important weren't solved.
Happily, we didn't intend to spend too much time at the hotel other than when we were sleeping so we thought that we can neglect those aspects and enjoy the rest of the trip without starting a fight with the ladies from the hotel reception. But we did return with some nasty itches at home which is not a nice memory to keep with us.

A fairly pleasant place where to spend time inside the hotel though, represented the SPA center which we did take advantage of even though water represents my biggest fear.
So while I had short periods spent in the pool that was quite deep, I did split my time into quick baths, jacuzzi fun, and relaxing moments laying on the sunbed from where I had a great view outside, sometimes almost feeling like the cargo ships will reach inside, lol.
My boyfriend instead, did love all the time spent in the water, even having some fun with my GoPro camera and taking some underwater images that I've always dreamed to have with myself, but which will never happen due to my fear.
Unfortunately, the SPA center did have its minuses too with people not respecting the rules, the schedule not being the same as the one mentioned online and the water not being cleaned as often as it should, but those represented some small details that we left behind for the sake of enjoying our time spent together away from home.

Along with the pool and jacuzzi that represent a nice memory in the end, the hotel comes with a fitness room which is mostly equipped with cardio machines, but also a sauna that I wish I could try but the single image I managed to capture was from the outside because the room was either locked or full of large families which did a great job using it as it's theirs and no one else could try it too.
However, while the hotel itself has plenty of pros and cons, I think it's important to mention that from my documentation it represents the best place in town where some people can spend their time while in Tulcea due to the lack of investments made since the communist period ended, so I feel blessed for being able to stay there during our accommodation.
Additionally, the view was absolutely insane, no matter if we were watching it from the SPA center, our room, the terrace, or any other part of the hotel. I know this is mostly the merit of nature but the hotel plays its role too for being smartly placed.
The price we paid for 3 nights at the hotel was 340 euros which included a double room with breakfast and free access to the SPA center. I have no idea what the prices are at the current time because our agency covered all the searches and they did add their commission too, but you can get a better idea by checking the official website of Hotel Delta as well as see some more pictures from the places that I forgot to capture with my phone.
I did see plenty of cool resorts and posts shared on here from other hivers and I know I can't compete with them, but for us, it was a way too important adventure together not to share this part of the trip too.
In order to reach the hotel you have to first add Tulcea on your GPS and then get to the end of the seafront which is where it's the hotel placed. This one is pretty close to anything in town, from shops to tourist attractions, from awesome views to the train station, beaches, parks, and more.
