Introduction

Hello everyone, Hive account@glecerioberto here, and welcome to today's #TravelDigest! Our Top 3 posts brings us some interesting locations. We have a lovely village by a harbor in Žuljana, Croatia. A 'new' yet very old massive bridge that connects places in Ronda (Spain) divided by a deep canyon. Finally, we have another bridge in Zaragoza, Spain. This time, its a bridge, but is also a museum, a very futuristic one. Of course we also have our Honorable Mentions, which are worthy to be featured. When my wife and I go on longer vacations, we both enjoy visiting not only the popular destinations but also the lesser-known ones. Our vacation on the Croatian peninsula of Pelješac was no exception. One day, we decided to hop in the car and explore some of the smaller villages on the peninsula. Today, I'd like to present to you what we consider the most interesting place we found that day: Žuljana, a village on the southern side of the peninsula.

There are towns you experience by walking, and others you experience by watching. Ronda is the latter. Although, there was significant amount of walking too :) The town doesn’t reveal itself all at once; it unfolds slowly, asking you to pause, lean against a stone wall, and look down—far, far down—into the gorge that slices the land cleanly in two.

Have you ever visited a bridge that is also a museum? To mark Expo 2008 in Zaragoza, the architect Zaha Hadid designed a pavilion linking the exhibition site with the opposite bank of the River Ebro. This unique building remained closed for several years due to a lack of resources to make its operation viable, until it was finally converted into what I am presenting to you in this post.
