Sorry for me spamming the Food Porn Community recently with several posts, but at the moment I am totally into cooking and I want to share something about that experience and my success, to be able to look back to this great time. One of my favorite Cakes that I still know from my grandmother is the "Pletschntorte" an easy cake that doesn't need any baking only some resting time in the refrigerator to taste incredible good. And it is pretty easy to make. You just need some Waffles, butter, Eggs, coocking chocolate and some apricot jam. As Decoraction but not a must you can use some "Streuselzucker" from Dr Oetker.
Ingredients:
Waffles - Waffles on Amazon
180 g Butter
2 Egg Yellows
100 g Powder Sugar
140 g Dark Chocolate
250 g Apricot Marmelade
Decoration - not a must but looks better
Time:
30 minutes to prepare the waffles with marmelade and chocolate sauce and resting the cake for half a day in the refrigerator befor eating it.
How To:
Heat the chocolate with a small piece of butter and big spoon of water in a pot until it is all molten. Mix the 2 Egg Yellows with the butter and then combine it with the chocolate sauce that you created previously. Add the Powder sugar and mix the chocolate sauce once again.
Take the Apricot marmelade and add it with a spoon or spatula on top of every waffle, let the marmelade soak in for 1 or two minutes before adding the chocolate cream that we created previously. Staple the next waffle on top of the first and repeat the process with the marmelade and the chocolate. On the Uppermost Waffle add the Sugar Decoration.
Leave the Cake in the refrigerator for half a day or 24 hours so the apricot marmelade and the chocolate has enough time to soak into the waffles. Now Enjoy this pretty easy and delicious cake. I didn't really take much of effort on the look and feel of the cake since I am the only one eating and seeing it, but If you want to have a better looking one you can also cover the sides of the cake with chocolate sauce or even better buy some round waffles.
