Introduction
Hi! 
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.
For the past 2 weeks, I've been making card reviews about the Core Rare cards of the Chaos Legion Set on how they are used in play and which of them are my favorite and has great utility when playing. So far, I was done with the Fire and Water Element and for this week, I'll be making a review for the Earth Element.

Mycelic Slipspawn is a 9-mana magic monster with the Taunt ability at level 1 where able monsters can only attack this card.
When it reaches level 4, it gains Forcefield that reduces the damage of all monsters with more than 5 damage to only 1 when attacking this card.
At level 8, it gains the Slow ability which reduces the speed of all monsters as long as this card remains in play.

- Goblin Tower only has the Blast ability which deals additional damage on adjacent monsters to the target and would be obtain as early as level 1.

Mycelic Infantry is a melee monster with the Shield ability at level 1 and enables it to only get half of the damage from melee and range attacks.
At level 5, it gains the Giant Killer ability which deals double damage on monsters with 10 or more mana.
Upon receiving damage, it will activate the Enrage ability which increases its speed and damage and was an ability attainable at level 8.

- Obsidian is the rare Earth Chaos Legion summoner which does not have any abilities it can grant but gives +1 magic on all magic monsters.
Rare Earth Cards In Action
Battle 1: Obsidian, Mycelic Slipspawn, Regal Peryton

With Equal Opportunity present which makes monsters to target the opponent with the lowest health while also only limited with odd mana monsters to use, it has become a good option to use Mycelic Slipspawn in this match since it has the Taunt ability so the opponent will be forced to attack only this card which at the same time has Slow which makes all the opponent monsters slower. Aside from the tank, the monsters of the opponent does not have attacks with 5 or more damage but if if did, the Forcefield will turn all those huge damage into one.
On the other hand, we have here Regal Peryton whose only ability was Flying and good for evading both melee and range attacks but at the same time, it has 8 health, 7 speed and 3 magic which is really good for a monster with only 5 mana cost.
And since both Mycelic Slipspawn and Regal Peryton were magic monsters, it has received a +1 magic boost by Obsidian.
Battle 2: Obsidian, Mycelic Infantry and Goblin Tower

On this battle we have Reverse Speed which gives priority of attack to monsters with the lowest speed so once again I used the Earth Summoner Obsidian since it does not provide any speed boost and allows me to use Goblin Tower. Although this monster was a range card and does not benefit from using the summoner, this card were incredibly slow which is a great fit for the available rule set and at the same time it has the Blast ability where it not only deals 5 damage on Unicorn Mustang, even Quora Towershead also got 3 damage from it.
Also, Mycelic Infantry were a very slow monster which got the Shield ability to reduce the damage from melee and range attacks by half but since most of the enemy monsters are magic, it would not be useful in this battle though the Giant Killing and Enrage becomes very useful here because not only it got a melee attack increase when it got damaged, it was also able to inflict twice of its attack on Quora Towershead with the total of 16 damage.
Final Thoughts
Magic is great for it ignores most armors so the additional magic boost from Obsidian was a great addition to the Earth team given that both Mycelic Slipspawn and Regal Peryton were magic monsters and were cards that I mostly use when choosing Earth Element. Both Mycelic Infantry and Goblin Tower were good for Reverse Speed rule set though at the same time, the Slow of Mycelic Slipspawn slightly contradicts with this monsters but would be beneficial on most rule sets.
