Hello, beer lovers! π»
We're ready for spring here. The first signs of spring, snowdrops and daffodils, are here. I'm just waiting for the soil in my field to dry out a little more, and then I'll get to work.
But first, a beer or two - now's the time for it!
Today, for the 452nd #beersaturday in a row, I have two cans in front of me, one Slovenian and one Irish, and I can't wait to share my beer experience with you.
First, the one with less alcohol.
Wicklow Wolf Elevation Pale Ale
Brewed by Wicklow Wolf Brewing Company, Newtown Mount Kennedy, County Wicklow, Ireland.
Can, 0.44 l, alcohol 4.8% ABV, IBU 40. Pale Ale - American style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
This aromatic & flavourful Pale Ale showcases a blend of fruity characteristics typical of the Mosaic hop, which is used in abundance in this beer.

My first encounter with this brewery. I believe the beer will be good because it's the brewery's flagship :)
The beer is cloudy yellow in color with little foam. It smells of tropical fruit.
It goes down smoothly, and I can taste the bitterness of hops (less than I expected given the IBU), as well as grapefruit and pineapple.
The tropical bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while.
A juicy and refreshing beer!
An American Pale Ale with a juicier twist. It's not as aggressively bitter as you'd expect given the amount of hops they put in it. It has a nice fruity flavor. I'd call it a kind of Hazy APA. Very good.
In Slovenia, it's only available in specialized beer stores, priced at β¬4.09.
Signs of spring, a bouquet for my wife.
Let's proceed!
Reservoir Dogs CruX Gose
Brewed by Reservoir Dogs Brewery, Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
Can, 0.44 l, alcohol 5.0% ABV, IBU 18. Sour - Fruited Gose style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
We complemented our gose beer with large quantities of mango and passion fruit. The result is a tropical fruit bomb. We called it CruX β the southern cross. It will lead us on our journey to the tropics.

One of the most famous and successful craft breweries in Slovenia. Everything I've tasted from them has been very good.
The beer is very cloudy, yellow-orange in color, almost like orange juice, with very little foam that quickly disappears. It smells of tropical fruit. It goes down smoothly, and I can taste a distinct sourness in my mouth, as well as mango. Concentrated mango taste.
The sourness lingers for a while.
Drinkable, refreshing, and sour. Actually, it's not even that sour once you get used to it after the second or third sip.
Sour beers aren't really my cup of tea, but this one is a decent "mango bomb" for all sour beer lovers. On the edge of what we can call beer, in my opinion.
It's available in specialty stores for β¬3.99. I think I should keep it in the fridge as an example of a good sour beer for friends.
And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Something from Friday's #newtunes. A new band for me, a strange mix of progressive rock, psychedelia, experimentation, and humor!
