First of all, the entries were all great. Thanks for sharing your biyahero experience as an entry for the pa-contest of the Hive PH Community. The theme of the contest is to "highlight your favorite mode of public transportation or your own cool private vehicle". What we wanted was to showcase the Filipino travel experience, specifically the mode of transportation used in the country. And we have lots of them. The entries did not disappoint and we had lots of fun reading.
The contest (Hive PH Contest: Biyaheng Pinoy!) was intended to be a fun and informative experience for the community. Here they are:

The Entries
Meet my forever buddy, it's my baby raider. I just bought this one last 2014. If you want a safe trip better to used the clutch one motorcycle. It's really safe, mark my word. I don't like the automatic one. As I've encountered a lot of accidents here in my place they are just using the automatic motorcycle. My baby raider have a clutch and it's convenient to used for me, don't know to others.
2. Our Old and Rusty Tricycle. By:
My father purchased the trike in the picture above when I was seven years old. We've had it for 25 years! It was a family service that took us everywhere we needed to go rather than being utilized to transport passengers. It was also used to carry agricultural produce from our small farm, where we planted corn and vegetables.
When my father passed away last year, the trike was a constant reminder of him to us. The sound of the trike engine made us feel his presence and somehow eased our longing.
3. Biyaheng Pinoy: The adventure of riding Kulig-lig (Hand-trucktor). By:
Imagine you were with your friends, and then you are on the side of the rice paddy field where you could smell the fresh air and the aroma of rice beginning to ripe. Then the Kulig-lig that is not too fast and steady gives you the comfort as the fresh air dumped on your face. It's divine, especially the video of gangs laughing and making fun of each other.
4. On A Bus For Christmas. By:
The only mode of transportation that I can access everytime I travel back home is a Bus. I enjoy riding in it every time and I will always prefer to sit beside the window if there is vacant. I get to enjoy the sceneries along the way, especially if it's a long travel. Some will sleep, but I would never for I don't want to miss a view on the road.
5. Journeying to the Waterworld Biyaheng Pinoy Contest. By:
Habagat, flooded our area sometime in 2013 not really sure about the date. I was on my way going to work in Manila but since the surge of water is too strong, I cannot leave our home. I immediately notified my lead that I cannot make it to work that day due to the extreme weather but once everything subsides I will go ahead and report back. Power was cut as a countermeasure by MERALCO since electric posts are dancing in the wind as well. Fear engulfed some homes, we are blessed that we are able to have somehow a sturdy house that can surpass the weather. Help isn't available and some members from different families just climbed into their roofs for safety. It was a terrible experience, our home was quite high and since we saw some neighbors that needed help we immediately used our boat to rescue them and let everyone stay in our home until the weather become better.
6. Have Wheels Will Travel. By:
My favorite mode of transportation is our own Van for a year now. We use this to get around, visit places and for our geotechnical consultancy business.
I, too, have many interesting experiences when it comes to transportation and traveling. Just like my unforgettable habal-habal ride going to Mt.Mayong-Payong, Masbate, or the adrenaline rushed-ride going to the cliff of Marmol, Tuburan, Cebu in which we rode customize mud bikes through the stream/river, or that coconut leaves we used to ride sliding from the top of the hill going down back when we were kids.
8. Adventures of a Daily Commuter. By:
For short-distance travels, I prefer to ride a jeepney; or a tricycle, if I am just traveling within our town. On the other hand, for long rides, I would ride on a bus and find myself a comfortable seat. I love riding on a bus as I have associated it with adventures and spontaneity.
9. Finding Art in the Routine: My Tricycle Stories. By:
There are various ways on how I get to work, but I prefer riding tricycles even if it’s somehow pricey for other commuters. It costs me Php 50 or $0.89 for a special, one way ride, it means the driver will treat you special, and the driver will talk to you nonstop about everything under the sun! Lol, kidding aside, it means I no longer have to wait for other passengers to arrive before the tricycle to go. Thanks to this special treatment, I can reach my workplace in due time and other places without getting late.
10. Why Boats And Ships Named After Women? By:
There is nothing really special about boats for me, but you know what? I found out that the reason why boats and ships are named after females is that boats are meant to carry life, just like women. I was mind blown by the reason behind the naming. I did not expect such an explanation!
11. A Love and Hate Relationship with Public Transportation. By:
The number one thing that you should be wary about are the fines when you use public transportation. There are a bunch of them and it's really going to be painful on your pocket if ever you get caught. Here are some rules which I remember, you are not allowed to sleep, eat or drink inside the bus/train. If you're a man, you should know where to sit because there are seats that are designated only for women and it's usually in the front. If you get caught you will be fined 200 AED which is around 3000 PHP. But I noticed that most of the people who get fines are the ones who don't tap whenever they get inside public transportation.
12. ALL IN ONE | BIYAHERONG PINOY HIVEPH ENTRY. By:
i have two addresses, one is in my hometown which is in Valencia Bukidnon and the other is in Davao City. So in order for me to go home and visit i use bus as my transportation but other people use vans, but i prefer bus because less disgrace (Charot) disgrasya or accident.
13. Hive PH contest: The FAFI fart story. By:
“Yes, it was embarrassing. The moment I realized that there was something wrong with my stomach. I knew something bad was coming. The compressed air contained a foul and unpleasant smell. Soon, I have to release it, or else, I will be in trouble. Then a few minutes after the bus started to move, a big surprise shocked the entire passengers. The unearthly, rotten, and yucky smell - the fart.”
14. My PNR Gaming Journey for 10 years. By:
The complainer. They are the one who always complain because of the crowded situation inside the PNR. Isara nyo na . Dina kami makahinga. Masikip na and so on. For me if you are not ready for that kind of situation they don't ride on PNR because all of the passengers there are hoping to enter the train on the given time because if not they will wait for another hour.
The Maniac. I encountered this many times along my journey of commuting in Manila. They take advantage the crowded place to make their moves and sometimes you can't speak up anymore because their reason is that it's crowded.
The couple. Mapapasana all ka nalang sa kanila. Chariz. The feeling when you are alone in the train and you see a couple and the guy protecting the girl to the crowded people inside. Awit.
15. Biyahero: Transportation Experiences in the Philippines By:
Those are the words that I always heared everytime when I am outside and when I am passing by in many public vehicles. Many drivers are always in front of me, asking if I need a ride to go to my destination place(s).
Waving our hand as a gesture of refusing them sometimes we feel broken as How they look like begging us to ride even though, the place where you go is not that far. But we can't do anything because we don't need to. It's sad to think of it as they are just doing a one of the hardest job just to earn money for giving their Family some food and providing their needs..
