I shared my entry for the Alphabet Hunt challenge by here.
This is - part 2, extras, leftovers, or 'Behind the scenes'.. you name it.
L — Leftovers
This word flashed in my mind and triggered this post. The pictures you see here are Leftowers from my entry to the challenge.
L — Ladoga
Ladoga is a Lake in Russia, very huge, considered to be the biggest lake in Europe. Those who follow me, often see my photo taken at the Ladoga skerries (little islands). I used to spend theer a week during my summer holidays every year (this year will be an exception). So, this morning when I observed the place for fresh mushrooms may appeared, I discovered instead an empty vodka bottle, labelled as 'Ladoga'. Of course, I took a picture, and looking at it more and more, I understand the hint: I should have used this word in my challenge post...
This is a photo from my second-time travel to Ladoga with a big team on two sail boats (I took the picture sitting at the second boat). This lake is huge like a sea.
L — Lion
Near that vodka bottle I found .... another empty bottle, this time it was a beer one. With a distinct L message again. Two plus two = four... When I looked at those two pictures, I thought: these are Leftovers. And I've got another L! This just triggered me, worked like a 'final drop', and I decided to create a bonus blog to my L alphabet hunt.
Also I must add, that I considered the word 'lion' and prepared two pictures illustrating it. Just excluded this word from the final version of my picks. Here are these lions, er, to be precise, one lion:
St.Petersburg is a city of lions, btw -- they are as hard to find around as your own left hand!
L — Linden
This was my 'homework' - nor original, neither creative: I prepared this image long before the L-week started, when it was Linden's blooming time, and kept in stock for the possible need. I dont think its an exclusive object or a cool photo; just a common, well-known Linden... but probably nobody else have picked it up?
L — Labyrinth
This word, Labyrinth, stucked in my head during the last week, cause I knew where I can get a suitable picture! But I felt too lazy (!) to do it (probably because I did not have a shortage of L-words, quite on the contrary!).Funny thing is, that English language has two equial (?) words: labyrinth and maze, so I could use it for the next week... but my picture is not the Maze, it is definitely a Labyrinth, cause its a brand: its the name of a Russian online book store, Labirint.ru (you may count it as an analogue of early Amazone). And today I took a picture of this leftover: its a bag we received with one of our orders. Sometimes we discover the words we need in a very strange places :)
Also, just a few days ago I discovered a very widely-spread mushroom that had a real labyrinth structure / pattern... but on the second thought, I decided that it is rather a maze, then a labyrinth, so -- it will go to a different post.
L — Ladder
Another fresh image from my village environment / surrounding. We used this ladder 2 weeks ago when we re-newed the protecive paint on the roof, and I took the picture... just in case.. Profit!
L — Lawn trimmer
This image also could easily go with the M label. Cause the photo has not only the actual Lawn trimmer (or is it a Grass trimmer?.. things become more complicated at night, now I am not so sure!) but look at this special exclusive hand-made Mask: it is intended to protect my lady from the annoying evil Midgets attacks. An integral, albeit unwanted, part of our rural life.
L — Lorry
This fine example of a toy lorry' picture was floating in my 'Unsorted' photo-folder. Captured it just few days ago at the same spot where the 'Pink-azure day' have happened. Coincidence? Probably.
L — Lizzard
Yes! I had a lizzard photo too. One of the first words that comes to mind -- thus, it was subsequently discarded as not creative enough.
And the next (and the last) one...
L — Library
It is not one of the leftovers, actually: shame on me, but I didnt think about the Library! But did. And - surprise! - quite recently I happened to pass by a local library, was attracted y the creative visuals and managed to capture a few frames. Nice coincidence! I could not but share it, this one is for you, Melinda.
