I continue participating in #SeasonHunt challenge by . Check this week post for more details -- the prompt was 'Santa & Elves'.

Ok, Elves arent on the top of the cake in my country's tradition of a New Year Celebration -- in Russia Santa (or Daddy Frost / Ded Moroz, as we name him) always arrive supported by a young beautiful lady -- his daughter named Snegurochka.
I dont know which one I have to start so let it be this one: some advertizing Daddy Frost I encountered in the display. Very funny and definitely feeling ok!
The tradition says that Daddy Frost used to be dressed in the blue dress; red color was implemented / invented just somewhere around the XX century... as far as I've heard. The figurine on the photo above is our toy, a tree decoration made of ceramics - the color is not very much clear and not distinctive, tho; I bet it was considered to be red, haha... turned out this 'pale' way due to technology issues.
One more Christmas tree toy - this time it is glass blown, and the coat is transparent. This figurine I love even more, tho it is very fragile... and it was very expensive (as it was a handmade work of art), so I just took a picture (at the New Year Fair).
One may ask - do I have a photo of a real "live" Daddy Frost? Sure thing, here we go:
But keep in mind: Daddy Frost usually arrives late at night, when the lighting is not very good, and he has a habit of hiding himself in a thick beard and mustache ... in general, this is not a masterpiece, no eye contact or a balanced composition ... such a photograph of which I will not brag, purely a "proofpic" :)
And below is his daughter, Snegurochka. All those kids were good (I know that for sure!) so they are definitely getting some nice presents, and Feel Good!
And now lets go outside, for a little walk across the city.
Elves sitting in the display, guarding the Christmas tree!
Yeah, if Elves do exist now they can be seen only in the displays, posters, postcards etc -- seems like a rare specie. One more display...
Angels singing some good old blues.
...Feeling very good, with the Christmas mood my baby counts the days till the Christmas presents, not to the date her school results for this year will be deduced!
My previous posts did not fit all the pics I wanted to share, so here are some leftovers: lights, decorations and the mood of the street life, the things I love to shoot. (And, again, the available night photography...)
Nevsky ave is the parade, face, and most fashionable street of the city. Decorations does impress... You'll see no masks - this was shot one month before the C-19 era have popped up... Happy time? not at all... The folks tend to value not what they have, but start to value it high when it's gone. So...
The 'boss' Christmas Tree located near the principal municipal building of the city district I live - can be considered automatically as the principal Christmas Tree of the same district. This year I happened to match the moment when the workers installed it and were finishing the light decorations testing -- I was just passing by late at night on November, 15. Check the photo below.
