Desde hace un tiempo no pasaba por esta linda comunidad, pero la tuve en mi mente en varias ocasiones del 2024, dado que estuve rodeada de muchos animales —y yo feliz, obviamente—. Cuando realicé la respectiva limpieza de mi galería al final del año, me di cuenta de que guardaba bastantes fotos de diferentes animales, y desee compartirlas con ustedes. Las personas que me conocen saben que estoy obsesionada con los animales, así que no es raro que cada vez que vea a alguno se gane una sesión de fotos🤭 Así que aquí les dejo una recopilación de (casi) todos los animales que vi en el 2024✨

It's been a while since I visited this nice community, but I had it in my mind several times in 2024, since I was surrounded by many animals -and I was happy, obviously-. When I did the respective cleaning of my gallery at the end of the year, I realized that I kept quite a few photos of different animals, and I wanted to share them with you. People who know me know that I'm obsessed with animals, so it's not uncommon that every time I see one of them, it earns me a photo shoot🤭. So here I leave you a compilation of (almost) all the animals I saw in 2024✨

Mis mascotas🩷
Para comenzar, dos de los seres más lindos e importantes en mi vida: mis mascotas. Lys y Luna son mi todo✨ Son mis acompañantes de cada día, mi apoyo emocional, me hacen reír, están conmigo cuando estoy estudiando, viendo una serie, leyendo, e incluso en este momento, escribiendo, están ambas a mi lado. Aunque pareciera que solo se soportan, yo creo que en secreto ellas se quieren, especialmente en las tardes, cuando ambas se acuestan juntas en el balcón de mi casa, observando —y juzgando— a las personas que pasan. Sin embargo, debo admitir que Luna "acosa" a Lys, varias veces la persigue por toda la casa, oliéndola, y a Lys no le gusta, pero igual la gata pasa la mayor parte del día durmiendo (robando mi cama), así que de esa manera huye de Luna.

My Pets🩷
To start, two of the most beautiful and important beings in my life: my pets. Lys and Luna are my everything✨ They are my daily companions, my emotional support, they make me laugh, they are with me when I am studying, watching a series, reading, and even at this moment, writing, they are both by my side. Although they seem to just put up with each other, I think they secretly love each other, especially in the evenings, when they both lie together on the balcony of my house, watching -and judging- the people passing by. However, I must admit that Luna “harasses” Lys, several times she chases her around the house, sniffing her, and Lys doesn't like it, but still the cat spends most of the day sleeping (stealing my bed), so that's how she runs away from Luna.

Mis mascotas ilegales🩷
Esta historia es un poco divertida (excepto para mis padres😬), desde hace años varios gatos llegan al patio trasero de mi casa, me encanta darles comida y agua, algunos hasta se dejan acariciar, mientras que otros tienen miedo y se alejan. Hay varios con los que he creado vínculos, pero igual mi casa es como un hotel para ellos: llegan, comen, descansan y se van. No obstante, a finales del 2023 llegó una gata que se quedaba todas las noches, sin entrar en la casa. En febrero del 2024, dio a luz a cuatro gatitos. Y me tocó ser niñera de esos cuatro traviesos. El día que dio a luz estaba lloviendo muy fuerte, y normalmente ella se va cuando el clima está así, pero debido a la situación no podía moverse mucho, dado que ya había nacido un gatito. Tuve que improvisar un refugio (que quedó muy bueno, sinceramente), y sin decirles mentiras, sé que ella estaba agradecida, y tuvo la confianza de poder dar luz a los otros tres gatitos. A dos de ellos les pude encontrar hogar, incluso uno quedó en la casa de atrás, así que en las noches siempre viene a pasar el rato; los otros dos, lamentablemente, no tuvieron la misma suerte, pero aún me mantengo alimentándolos, y se encuentran bien. Espero pronto poder comprar un Kennel y llevarlos con más frecuencia al veterinario.

My illegal pets🩷🩷
This story is a bit funny (except for my parents😬), for years several cats arrive in the backyard of my house, I love to give them food and water, some even let themselves be petted, while others are afraid and move away. There are several with whom I have bonded, but still my house is like a hotel for them: they arrive, eat, rest and leave. However, at the end of 2023, a cat arrived and stayed every night, without entering the house. In February 2024, she gave birth to four kittens. And it was my turn to babysit those four naughty kittens. The day she gave birth it was raining very hard, and normally she leaves when the weather is like that, but due to the situation she could not move much, since one kitten had already been born. I had to improvise a shelter (which was very good, honestly), and without telling you lies, I know she was grateful, and had the confidence to give birth to the other three kittens. Two of them I was able to find homes for, one even stayed in the back house, so in the evenings he always comes to hang out; the other two, unfortunately, were not as lucky, but I still keep feeding them, and they are doing well. I hope soon to be able to buy a Kennel and take them more frequently to the vet.

Animalitos universitarios🩷
Esta también es una historia bonita, con final feliz😌 El año pasado realicé mis terceras pasantías universitarias, en el área de Psicología Comunitaria. Debido a que veo clases en un hospital de la ciudad, tuve la oportunidad de realizar mis pasantías allí mismo, en Terapia Ocupacional. En todo el lugar hay varios perros y gatos, y sinceramente, están cuidados, no se encuentran en mal estado a pesar de no ser caseros. La situación es que hubo dos gatos que nos acompañaron durante los meses de pasantías, estos animales llegaban en la mañana, se quedaban mientras estábamos ahí, y en la tarde se iban. Obviamente, nosotros le llevábamos comida, le dábamos agua, e incluso a uno de ellos le curamos una conjuntivitis (con un tratamiento que Lys tenía🤭). Los nombramos Martín y Maritza, como dos teóricos de la psicología social y comunitaria. La buena noticia es que una compañera de clases logró encontrarle un hogar a Maritza, una gata increíblemente cariñosa y obediente, incluso se logró esterilizarla. La misión ahora es lograrlo también con Martín.

University animals🩷
This is also a nice story, with a happy ending😌 Last year I did my third university internships, in the area of Community Psychology. Because I see classes at a hospital in the city, I had the opportunity to do my internship right there, in Occupational Therapy. Throughout the place there are several dogs and cats, and honestly, they are taken care of, they are not in bad shape even though they are not domestic. The situation is that there were two cats that accompanied us during the months of internships, these animals arrived in the morning, stayed while we were there, and in the afternoon they left. Obviously, we brought them food, gave them water, and even cured one of them of conjunctivitis (with a treatment that Lys had🤭). We named them Martín and Maritza, as two theorists of social and community psychology. The good news is that a classmate managed to find a home for Maritza, an incredibly affectionate and obedient cat, and even managed to sterilize her. The mission now is to do the same for Martin.

De igual manera, hubo un tercer personaje: Zeus. Es un perro que sí tenía un hogar, pertenece a una señora de la comunidad vecina al hospital. En algunas ocasiones tuvimos que salir a la calle, y conversar con los vecinos, y este perro nos acompañaba como un guardián mientras íbamos caminando. Incluso en varias ocasiones llegó al lugar de Terapia Ocupacional, y también pasaba las mañanas con nosotros. Sin duda, los animales son seres leales. Si les demuestras cariño y confianza, ellos permanecen contigo💖

Similarly, there was a third character: Zeus. He is a dog that did have a home, he belongs to a lady from the community neighboring the hospital. On some occasions we had to go out into the street, and talk to the neighbors, and this dog accompanied us as a guardian while we were walking. On several occasions he even came to the Occupational Therapy place, and also spent the mornings with us. Without a doubt, animals are loyal beings. If you show them affection and trust, they stay with you💖

Animalitos de viajes🩷
Agradezco inmensamente que en este 2024 tuve la oportunidad de viajar varias veces, y en cuatro de esas aventuras pude conocer algunos animales muy lindos. Primero, en Choroní hay un local de comida que mi madre encontró en Instagram, y quería visitarlo principalmente por sus animales: dos huskies, y varios gatos. Fue interesante ver perros huskies en un pueblo costero, que cada mañana se levantan para ir a dar un paseo por la playa. Además, también noté que en todo el pueblo hay una multitud de gatos, que supongo que estarán felices, dado que la mayor parte de los habitantes se dedican a la pesca; la mayoría de esos gatitos estaban muy gordos, como este negro que les enseño en las fotos.

Travel animals🩷
I am immensely grateful that in this 2024 I had the opportunity to travel several times, and in four of those adventures I was able to meet some very cute animals. First, in Choroní there is a food place that my mother found on Instagram, and I wanted to visit it mainly for its animals: two huskies, and several cats. It was interesting to see huskies in a coastal town, who get up every morning to go for a walk on the beach. In addition, I also noticed that all over the village there is a multitude of cats, which I guess they will be happy, since most of the inhabitants are engaged in fishing; most of those kittens were very fat, like this black one I show you in the photos.

En diciembre pude hacer camping en una finca, y el lugar tenía dos perros. Un husky blanco que lucía tal como un oso, totalmente amable, que se emocionaba al verte como si fueras su mejor amigo. El segundo perro no era de raza, pero sin duda tuvimos un vínculo especial, al punto de que tomó varias siestas conmigo en una hamaca. Me siguió por todo el lugar, todo el tiempo que estuve allí, y quedé totalmente enamorada de él, de nombre Chucho. Cuando visité la montaña de Cubiro, me llevé la grata sorpresa de encontrar a muchos perritos allí, todos completamente amables y cariñosos, buscando amor y comida🤭 Y, por último, cuando visité por primera vez a Isla Larga, había una gatita sentada en el muelle de botes, que nos acompañó mientras esperábamos por el nuestro.

In December I was able to go camping on a farm, and the place had two dogs. A white husky who looked just like a bear, totally friendly, who was thrilled to see you as if you were his best friend. The second dog was not a purebred, but we certainly had a special bond, to the point that he took several naps with me in a hammock. He followed me all over the place, the whole time I was there, and I was totally in love with him, named Chucho. When I visited Cubiro mountain, I was pleasantly surprised to find many little dogs there, all completely friendly and affectionate, looking for love and food🤭 And finally, when I visited Isla Larga for the first time, there was a little cat sitting on the boat dock, who accompanied us while we waited for ours.

Zoológico & Ferias🩷
En el 2024 pude visitar, después de mucho tiempo, el zoológico de mi ciudad. No soy muy amante de estos lugares, no me gusta verlos encerrados, ellos merecen estar en sus hábitats naturales, libres. Sin embargo, sabemos que debido a circunstancias lamentables, algunos de ellos no pueden volver a su verdadero lugar, y una forma de apoyar los zoológicos para que le den una calidad de vida a estos animales, es visitándolos, pagando la entrada, para que puedan obtener recursos. Aunque vi varios avestruces felices cuando su cuidador se acercó, lo perseguían por el espacio, y el señor los trataba con cariño, fue un lindo momento. Además, en la temporada de vacaciones, siempre se realizan ferias en mi ciudad, con varias atracciones para el público, entre ellas hay algunas haciendas que presentan su ganado, y los animales de granja siempre me han gustado. Así que fui a la Feria con la única intención de ver y tocar a los animales. Después que lo logré, me devolví a mi casa🤭

Zoo & Fairs🩷
In 2024 I was able to visit, after a long time, the zoo of my city. I am not very fond of these places, I don't like to see them locked up, they deserve to be in their natural habitats, free. However, we know that due to unfortunate circumstances, some of them can not return to their real place, and one way to support the zoos to give a quality of life to these animals, is to visit them, paying the entrance fee, so they can get resources. Although I saw several happy ostriches when their keeper approached, they chased him around the space, and the gentleman treated them with affection, it was a nice moment. Also, during the vacation season, there are always fairs in my town, with various attractions for the public, among them there are some ranches that present their livestock, and farm animals have always appealed to me. So I went to the fair with the sole intention of seeing and touching the animals. After I succeeded, I went back home🤭

Animalitos Randoms🩷
Hay otros animales que no conseguí incluir en un solo grupo, así que los catalogué como random. Gatos callejeros que pude alimentar y acariciar por un rato, los gatos de una amiga que me acompañaron mientras la visitaba, incluso un gatito que me ayudó a manejar mi ansiedad cuando estaba haciendo fila (por horas) para ejercer mi derecho al voto, en las elecciones presidenciales del año pasado. Creo que de todos los animales que pueda encontrar, los animales de la calle siempre serán mis favoritos. Mi gran sueño es tener la posibilidad de abrir un refugio de animales, sacarlos de la calle, cuidarlos y poder encontrarle ese hogar lleno de amor que cada animal se merece. Por esa razón mis mascotas son adoptadas de refugios, y son de las mejores decisiones de mi vida✨ Y debo hacer dos menciones especiales a un grupo de nueve gatos callejeros, que viven cerca de mi casa, y en las tardes siempre se reúnen en una casa específica porque allí le dan comida. La hora de su cena coincide con la hora en que salgo del gym, así que siempre los encuentro, son mi motivación para ir al gym cada día, porque sé que los veré. Hay tres de ellos que cuando ven que me acerco caminan hacia mí para que les dé cariño, incluso la señora que los alimenta me ha esperado en las tardes para conversar conmigo acerca de los gatos🤭 También a dos perritos que cuidaban una casa de construcción, justo en el lugar donde espero el transporte de la universidad. Estos dos animales veían por la ventana cuando yo pasaba para saludarme, y me acompañaban hasta que llegara el transporte.

Random Animals🩷
There are other animals that I didn't manage to include in a single group, so I categorized them as random. Stray cats that I was able to feed and pet for a while, a friend's cats that accompanied me while I visited her, even a kitten that helped me manage my anxiety when I was standing in line (for hours) to exercise my right to vote, in last year's presidential election. I think that of all the animals I can find, street animals will always be my favorite. My big dream is to be able to open an animal shelter, take them off the street, take care of them and find them that loving home that every animal deserves. For that reason my pets are adopted from shelters, and they are some of the best decisions of my life✨ And I must make two special mentions to a group of nine stray cats, who live near my house, and in the evenings they always gather in a specific house because they are given food there. Their dinner time coincides with the time I leave the gym, so I always find them, they are my motivation to go to the gym every day, because I know I will see them. There are three of them that when they see me approaching they walk towards me so I can give them affection, even the lady that feeds them has waited for me in the afternoons to talk to me about cats🤭 I also met two little dogs that were guarding a construction house, right in the place where I was waiting for the transportation to the university. These two animals watched through the window when I passed by to greet me, and accompanied me until the shuttle arrived.

Recordar y reflexionar sobre todos los animales que se cruzaron por mi camino en el 2024 me hace apreciar aún más la diversidad de la vida que nos rodea; esos momentos, tanto grandes como pequeños, son una muestra de que compartimos este mundo con seres únicos, que pueden enriquecer nuestras vidas más de lo que imaginamos🍃 Espero que esta publicación te anime a apreciar cada animalito que encuentres a tu alrededor, cada interacción con ellos. Ellos tienen la capacidad de enseñarnos lecciones sobre empatía, amistad, lealtad, y que incluso en las cosas más simples hay belleza. Remembering and reflecting on all the animals that crossed my path in 2024 makes me appreciate even more the diversity of life around us; those moments, both big and small, are a sign that we share this world with unique beings, who can enrich our lives more than we can imagine🍃 I hope this post encourages you to appreciate every little animal you find around you, every interaction with them. They have the ability to teach us lessons about empathy, friendship, loyalty, and that even in the simplest things there is beauty.
