So yesterday was my birthday. Since I was maybe 12, I always go to a restaraunt called "Benihana" for dinner. It's a hibachi steak house. There are many like it, but Benihana has always been the go-to for me. It's essentially dinner and a show. A delicious dinner may I add.
I always get the same thing because I know what I like...the Samurai Triple, or as they now call it, the Benihana Trio. Whatevs. Filet mignon, medium rare, chicken, and colossal shrimp with fried rice.
Don't forget to double up on your YUM-YUM sauce!!!
Double up - double up, uh uh!
But let's rewind a wee bit back to breakfast. I had to start my day off right, and that meant steak and eggs.
A thick rib-eye, medium rare, with two sunny side up eggs with shredded cheese. This is my dream breakfast. I would have added some potatoes and onions, but I was on a time crunch. Still, no complaints.
Of course you need to make that YOLK WATERFALL and then smother the steak all up in it.
Oh man, I'm salivating just writing this...
Well that was absolutely delicious.
How can you have a bad birthday when you start your day with Rib-eye and end it with Filet mignon???? I just don't think you can. Ya just can't. Not possible. I'm a testament to this fact.
The proof is in the pudding onion and mushroom soup, that only Benihana can make.
Since we are still under the boot of authoritarian jack wagons, we were maxxed out at 6 people for dinner. So it was me, my wife, our 4 month old son, my brother Zak, my Brazilian buddy Piter, and my other buddy Denver Dan.
Say HI guys!
After the soup and salad, the show starts. If you've never been to a hibachi style restaraunt before, this is what you're in for.
CHOO-CHOO!!!
After all the fancy show off moves and actual cooking, you do eventually get your food.
It just doesn't get much better than this.
What a great birthday!
Have you even been to Benihana or another style of Hibachi place?
