Strawberries with chocolate sauce ... yumm! How about banana with chocolate sauce?
Or pound cake with chocolate sauce?
Or maybe all of the above, plus more?
Let's make some chocolate fondue sauce the easy way. All you'll need is some baking chocolate, heavy cream and a microwave.
I use different kinds of baking chocolate. Below are some of the ones I had handy. You can make it as dark or milky as you want. Use semi-sweet for a milkier sauce or dark chocolate for a darker sauce. You can also use a combination to get the desired taste.
Use one ounce of chocolate for every 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream. These 2 squares of chocolate equal one ounce. It makes it easy to break off the amount you need from the bar.
Below is a different brand. They're already available in individual pieces and 5 of them is equivalent to roughly 1 ounce. It doesn't have to be exact as this recipe is forgiving.
I made a lot as I had guests so I have here 6 oz of broken chocolate pieces and 1 1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream.
Combine the ingredients in a microwavable glass bowl.
Microwave until mixture is thickened, stirring every 30 seconds or so. Transfer to fondue pot.
Serve with an assortment of fresh fruits. The chocolate sauce also goes well with marshmallows, pound cake, dried fruits and nuts.
