I'ts wednesday here in Singapore. And its a fine day. I am thinking of posting my blog in a series in every single day.. I decided Wednesday as my "Recipe day", wherein every wednesday I will blog some of my simple recipe that I can share with you guys.
So, let's start!! My Wednesday Recipe today is "Omu-rice , Japanese omelette rice. Its a simple and easy recipe you can make your own. This is a well-known dish or breakfast not only in Japan but also in some Asian countries.
Prep time 5 minutes
Cool time 20 minutes
Total time 25 minutes
Ingredients:
1 1/2 left over rice
½ onion
Half cup of spam dice (u can use chicken breast dice or bacon)
1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
½ cup frozen mixed vegetables (defrosted)
1 tsp salt
freshly ground black pepper
Microgreens ( for decoration)
1 tsp soy sauce
For omelette:
2 large egg
2 Tbsp milk
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
6 Tbsp cheese (or any kind)
Instruction:
- Gather all the ingredients.
- Chop the onion and ham finely.
- Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and sauté the onion until softened. Add the ham.
- Add the mixed vegetables and season with salt and pepper.
- Add the rice and break them until even.
- Seasoned with salt and soy sauce
- Transfer the rice mix in a plate set aside and wash the pan.
Now let's cook the omelette.
- Whisk 1 egg and 1 Tbsp milk in a small bowl.
- Put olive oil make sure it's spread evenly on the surface.
- When the pan is hot, pour the egg mixture into the pan and tilt to cover the bottom of the pan. Lower the heat .
- Put cheese and an a cup of your cooked rice mix.
- Fold both sides of omelette toward the middle to cover the fried rice using a spatula. Slowly move the omurice to the edge of the pan.
- Turn off the heat. Serve it in a nice plate ...
Mine I garnished my omurice with microgreens on top.
