If you like flatbread with savory simple things on top and you'll amaze with this recipe, and surprising how easy it is to make. 😁
So Today I would like to share you an interesting recipe for Flammkuchen, a delicious German style pizza. 🇩🇪
Flammkuchen comes from South Germany and the Alsace region of France, which is the flatbread topped with sour cream, bacon, onions and sprinkle with spring onions.
🇩🇪 Flamm means Flame and Kuchen refers to Cake in German words. 🌮
Flammkuchen is label as German pizza. The dough is made without yeast. It's a simply mixture of flour, salt, water, and oil. Then knead until it is soft and smooth for about 3 minutes. 😀
Flammkuchen was invented a few hundred years ago by the baker who wanna test the wood fired oven temperature. If it was browned at the edges in a couple of minutes, then the oven was ready to bake.
As they don't want to throw any edible food away so they just topped with ordinary ingredients so the Flame Cake was born. 😄
This German pizza style recipe came from my German friend, which I twisted the instruction from bake in the oven to cook by the pan instead.
The important key is to roll the dough very thin. It can be any shape as you wish. It can be square, oval or circle. 😀
The traditional Flammkuchen is topped with creme fraiche, but feel free to use sour cream as my recipe or if you want to be a super heathy, Greek yoghurt can be a very good choice. 🍍
