Hey Hive!
Now that it's been quite a while since Singapore has has been out of lockdown, or what our government has termed "circuit breaker", restaurants have been operating pretty much as usual aside from implementing safe distancing measures. We've also been eating out more and trying new places!
Recently we've been having a spike of covid cases here in Singapore so there have been news of a possibility of Singapore going into another lockdown. It's not confirmed yet, but to be prepared, we ordered takeaway for dinner the other day and I was craving fried chicken so we tried the chicken from Arnold's!

I've only had Arnold's once before when my father decided to try it and bought some back for lunch a long time ago. I never heard of them before that, but apparently, Arnold's Fried Chicken is one of the pioneering Halal eateries in singapore and has been in business for more than 35 years!
They first started out as a small fried chicken shop and were the concept came from two entrepreneurs who have since built up an entire franchise through hard work, determination and their own brilliant ideas, as well as the core belief that customers deserve fresh food.

Their menu is pretty simple, consisting of different fried chicken combos, similar to that of KFC. However, one thing that Arnold's has that KFC doesn't (to my knowledge) is an entire fried spring chicken!
I've never tried their spring chicken meals before and I actually don't think I've ever had an entire fried chicken like that! I've only ever had whole roasted chickens. It'll be awesome to try a fried one some day though!
Anyway, we ordered the 2 person combo meal which comes with 5 pieces of crispy fried chicken served with 1 potato fries, 1 coleslaw, 2 buns and 2 regular soft drinks. However, since neither of us are a fan of coleslaw, we opted for mashed potato instead.
About 20 minutes later, our order arrived! The chicken and buns came in a nice box and we got bandung instead of soft drinks! Bandung is rose syrup mixed with condensed milk, for those who are unfamiliar.
The chicken smelled so goood! I couldn't wait to dig in!
The buns were pretty regular; it was slightly crisp on the bottom and nicely buttered, but the chicken was definitely top tier delicious! The batter was nicely seasoned and fried to crispy perfection, and the meat was juicy and not dry at all.
The mashed potato tasted different compared to KFC's mashed potato, but it was still really nice and matched well with the chicken. The fries were just alright; I think they got a little soggy during the delivery but it was understandable. They were just average fries anyway.
I was so stuffed after this meal! It was truly delicious and I think it definitely rivals KFC and seems around the same price anyway. I think KFC might be more accessible if you're not using delivery because of how many outlets there are though.
Currently, Arnold's has 6 outlets in Singapore, in both the East and West side, but they have delivery available on many phone apps like Grab, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get it. I think it's definitely worth a try if you're craving fried chicken but don't want to spend time queuing up.
So definitely give Arnold's a try the next time you're in the mood for chicken!
