High school life, oh my high school life..
.. Why am I singing. Haha!
They say high school is the best part of student life. Well, I am not sure of that since I had a pretty normal high school life. A little boring but I miss it too when I look back at all the activities and classes we had. This blogging challenge, by the way, was created by , Let's Do A 30-Day Blogging Challenge!!!. You can participate if you like!
Now for the tenth blogging challenge, you have to ride the nostalgia train and list your best high school memories.
WHAT? THE STRAYKAT WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL?
Surprise! It turns out Straykat is an educated straying kat. Lol. Don't mind it, I am just trying to be funny. Please laugh. huehuehue
#1 INTRAMURALS
Intramurals week means putting the chairs and table out of the room because there are no class lessons! All we have to do is practice our piece for the cheering competition. We sit on the floors chatting about anything and not worrying about assignments and all of that academic stuff.
Aside from the cheering competition, there are also sports competition like basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess, dama, scrabble, etc. If I remembered it correctly, there was also a declamation contest. I always join the volleyball since fifth grade. Even if I'm small, not so good, and not familiar with all of the rules, I still join this sports because it's the only sport I know. I was even selected as the captain ball in our senior year. Hahaha! But we won! Lol. The teams were a mix of freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior, because each year level only has one section and maybe mixing us together is the most equal and reasonable choice the teachers can come up with. Although being the captain ball and was supposed to be the one strategizing our formation, one of my junior teammate did my job even without my permission. Kind of annoying but it's alright, we won anyways. Lol. I also joined the scrabble competition when I was a sophomore and unexpectedly won. However, our class never won 1st prize for the cheering competition in our entire 4 years in high school. Haha!
#2 CHRISTMAS PARTY!
Well, of course, aside from school vacation, I think this is one of the most awaited occasions in school is Christmas party. We get to dress in civilian, play games with prizes, eat delicious food together after, then receive our gifts at the end. Oh, we also have to decorate our room with recycled materials during Christmas season. During our senior year, I was tasked to decorate our sliding window, the only window of our room. One time, there was a power outage and we can't fully open the window, else, the decors will be crumpled. We were drenched in sweat then. Lol. The Christmas room decoration was a contest and the winners will be awarded during the Christmas party day. I can't remember if we won an award though.
#3 VACANT TIME
An underrated moment in high school but one of the most memorable times for me. I know the little happiness when the next teacher is a bit late so we have more time to chat with out seatmates, do unfinished homework, etc. I always like these little times because it seems like a commercial or an intermission number where the talkative and funny classmates get crazy and I will just watch and laugh from my seat. When the next teacher is absent, we are left with no one to watch over us, thus, extension for more laughs and craziness.
Of course, recess and lunch break too! Why would I ever forget these. Our lunch break is an hour long so we have a lot of free time after eating. My group of friends would assemble around the table and laugh at every joke we could think of. Sometimes, we use the remaining free time to study, lend my assignment to some classmates who haven't done theirs yet, then our class adviser would hide behind a wall from the second floor to see who are cheating on their assignments. Lol. (Oh the horror feeling you get when you see her looking down at you because you're doomed once you get back to the room.) But most of the time we just feel sleepy and bored while waiting to return to our room.
#4 WEEKEND HANGOUTS
Look at those pure, stress-free smiles. Wish we can bring these times back!
I think high school wouldn't be complete without having to visit one of your classmate's home. On some weekends, we meet go to a classmate's home and spend the whole morning and afternoon there. We just talk, play random games, and eat. We have one classmate whom our whole class love visiting because it's nice, with free delicious foods, playstation games, karaoke, and dogs. They have a huge television which is perfect for many people to watch together. Their lawn is wide too. Such a nice home! If we're not in our classmate's house, we go to a mall to watch a movie.
What a simple and fun life we had as high school students, isn't it. But these are the most precious memories we can keep with us forever. I kind of miss my high school classmates now.
