I believe that traditional food will always have a place in our hearts. When I was a kid, one of my favorites was Gethuk. The main ingredient of this food is cassava. I never made this food, but by the time I made this post, I was looking up for the-step by-step on how to make Gethuk, and surprisingly it is so simple. We only need to boil the cassava until it's cooked, cool it down, add some salt, and crush it until pulverized. If we love to see it more colorful, we could add some food colorings depending on what we like.

Back to the stories when I was a kid, I always found an old lady peddling this food on her bicycle around my neighborhood. I forgot the exact time, but I think the last time I saw her selling this food was about 15 years ago, while I was still in elementary school. I miss this food, but I don't know where to buy it (I never thought to make it by myself before, but after knowing that it is so simple, next time I'll make it by myself 😁).
So one day, out of nowhere, While I was sitting in front of the porch of my parent's house, a man showed up and yelled "Gethuk, Gethuk". Hearing that word, really made me so happy. Right after I heard it, I yelled back to the man "Bang, beli bang" (Bro, I want to buy it). He stops his motorcycle, and I get to him immediately. I ask for the price, and he said it was only 1,000 IDR each (~0.1 USD). I bought 10 pcs at that time, and he gave them in 4 colors, which are Yellow, White, Red, and Green. After all, I was so happy to have a chance to taste this food again.

Anyway, this is my first post on the community and I hope you like it. That's the story about one of my favorite food. See you in the next post 🙂
