The Gargoya Scrapper is a Melee Monster, member of the Life Splinter, of common quality. Its very low mana cost (1) makes it a great choice for low-mana battles, and also for all those cases where you are left with 1 mana and 1 remaining spot.

Now before getting into the stats discussion of the Monster, let's have a sneak peek into its LORE

So, the Gargoya Scrappers are great at building all sorts of Gargoyas and are also sworn enemies to the Chaos Legion. That's something I would not have guessed by just looking at their art. This is why it's important not to skip Lore classes.😉

Okay, now that we have a vague idea of who or what the Gargoya Scrapper is, let us have a look at its stats and abilities at different key levels.

It starts off with no special ability at level 1. That is actually pretty common for Common cards, especially those which cost a low amount of mana. It starts off with 1 Attack, 2 Speed, 0 Shield and 2 Health.
At level 3 it gains the Void ability (Reduced damage from Magic Attacks)
At level 5 which is the max level for Silver league it gains an additional point in Speed.
At level 7 it gains an additional attack point but loses the point in speed it previously gained.
Finally maxxed out at level 10 the Monster has 2 Attack, 3 Speed, 0 Armor and 3 Health, which are pretty good stats for a 1-mana melee filler card.

Now that we know what the card does (or doesn't do) at the different levels of play, let us have a look at the two battles (because they are pretty quick) I have chosen to showcase.

The line-up of the Battle and the Ruleset:

The ruleset for this battle is Taking Sides (no neutral monsters may be used) and it is restricted to 26 mana. This means that the number of Monsters which can be used is rather limited. I have decided to go with the Gargoya Scrapper in the first spot as it is the only Monster I have available with the Void ability (it is level 3). I want a Monster with Void since I have seen that my opponent has played Magic line-ups in all of their last 5 battles.

The 2nd place in the line-up goes the Baby Unicorn due to its Strengthen ability (it increases the health of allied Monsters by 1). The point of this is to increase the health of the Gargoya Scrapper and make it tankier.

The 3rd place in the line-up goes to Djinn Renova. It has the Strengthen ability as well so the life total of the Gargoya Scrapper is now 4 instead of the starting amount of 2.

The 4th spot is reserved for the first healer in the line-up, namely the Divine Healer. Its purpose is clear - to try to keep the Gargoya Scrapper alive as long as possible.

The Venari Crystalsmith is the 2nd healer in the line-up. As you can see I am trying to make the Gargoya Scrapper the best Anti-Magic monster in the game at least for 1 battle. Let us see how that goes.😁

In the last spot I have placed the only Sneak Monster in the line-up - the Stitch Leech. It plays two roles - to attack the enemy backline and also protect its fellow Monsters from any potential enemy Sneak ones. I doubt there will be any this time since I expect the enemy to be spamming Magic attackers as I have already mentioned.

It is time for a quick round by round analysis:

I want to preface this by saying that both battles I have chosen to showcase are from my Bronze I alt account as it had Life as its daily focus so it was easier for me to get decent battles which include the Gargoya Scrapper. The Summoner I have chosen to use this battle is a level 2 Lorna Shine, while my opponent has chose to use a level 2 Alric Stormbringer to boost their Magic line-up.

After 1 round, there are no casualties. It is clear that since I have 2 healers and my opponent 1 healer on the tank spot and 1 healer for their last spot, it could be a long battle.

At the start of Round 3 I have managed to take down their 2 cannon fodder Monsters but now it has come to Djinn Oshannus as their main tank which is also a Monster with the Void ability so my Divine Healer does 0 damage to it.

Round 4 is here and the stalemate is obvious. No Monsters will die until we get into overtime.

Fast forward to Round 21 and the first round of fatigue has hit the battle field. All Monsters remaining from Round 4 are still alive.

Round 22 - after the 2nd round of fatigue our protagonist - the Gargoya Scrapper finally gives up and breaks into pieces. The enemy's healer has also lost the battle with fatigue.

Round 23- after the 3rd round of fatigue has passed. The battle field is significantly emptier with just 4 Monsters barely hanging on.

Round 24 - it is the Djinn Renova against the Lobstradamus in a final showdown. Unfortunately even though the Djinn Renova is faster than the overgrown lobster and kills it, the fatigue damage after that kills it.
Eventually the battle ends with a well-deserved draw. My plan to boost the life of our hero - the Gargoya Scrapper actually worked but our team lacked just a bit more damage to be victorious eventually.

Let us begin with the line-up and the Ruleset:

The mana budget for this battle is a lot tighter than what it was for the first one so the Moster choice is even more restricted. The Up Close and Personal ruleset makes matters even worse or.. easier depending on the point of view. Sometimes less variety makes choices simpler and is better for the outcome. 😃 So I decided to go with the Silvershield Knight as my main tank for its Inspire ability (increases the melee attack of friendly Monsters). Boosting the attack of your melee Monsters, especially when the ruleset allows only melee Monsters to be played, is very important.

The second spot is reserved for our stony friend - the Gargoya Scrapper. The point is to have it stall the enemy should the Silvershield Knight fall so the rest of the backline could do a bit more work uninterrupted.

The 3rd spot goes to the Feral Spirit. It is an extremely fast Sneak Monster which I expect to cause a huge headache to the enemies at the back.

In the 4th spot is for the Stitch Leech. We seen it in action already in the previous battle even though it could not do much then. This time I hope it will do more paired with another Sneak Monster because focused fire actually does wonders in this game.

And last but not least we have the Sould Fiend. I expect it to take two hits if the enemy happens to have a Sneak Monster of their own. Two hits might not seem much but in a low-mana battle where most Monster have little to no health, two hits are the difference between a win and a loss.

It is time for a quick round by round analysis:

As we can see I have again opted for a level 2 Lorna Shine. My enemy is also using a Dragon Summoner I actually rarely see in battle - Selenia Sky

After 1 round I have taken down the enemy's harpy while my Soul Fiend is down after taking those two hits we already discussed.

At the start of Round 3 we can see that the enemy has also lost their Stich Leech while I have not lost any additional Monsters yet. The enemy still has its most dangerous Monster on the board though - Djinn Chwala due to its Thorns ability but its shield is already down.

Round 4 - we can see that I have lost two more Monsters - the Silvershield Knight and Gargoya Scrapper but the Djinn Chwala is down to 1 health which is quite telling for what the outcome of the battle will be. After a somewhat lackluster Draw in the first battle, the Gargoya Scrapper finally contributed to a win for its team. A worthy sacrifice.

The Gargoya Scrapper is a very low-budget melee Monster from the Life Splinter, which will definitely rarely be your MVP, but is a very nice Monster to support your defensive efforts for sure. With its mana cost of 1, it can be fit in any line-up as long as you have 1 mana to spare and 1 free spot in your team.
