When I featured the silver 5 Bolivares from Venezuela, I mentioned that I had another Bolivar coin.
This is for
!
1965 Venezuela 2 Bolivares Silver Coin
The 2 Bolivares coins were produced from 1960 to 1965. The coin I am showing you is the last minting of the coins.
The two mints involved in producing the coins were Monnaie de Paris, Paris, France, and the Mint (Tower Hill), London, United Kingdom. This coin was minted by the Royal Mint on London. It was the only year that the Royal Mint produced the coins.
This is the coat of arms Venezuela that is depicted in the obverse of the coin.
It is different and updated from the other 1910 coin that I have.
Above the shield are two cornucopias symbolizing wealth. The wheat is the 24 states that comprise the republic, and also the wealth. The sword, sabre, three lances and two national flags represent triumph over war, and the white horse sybolizes freedom and independence.
It is a nice coin to add to my collection, and meaningful since I've met and became close to beautiful ladies through Ladies of Hive- ,
