Alright gearheads, I think we already know that every Wednesday means a new Live Summit released in The Crew 2 so what we should expect in Motornation this time is a journey back in time with a lot of classic vehicles from the 1980s, but also a world where everything was cubic and pixelated with not too many advanced graphics.
Sounds like turning back in childhood when you were playing Minecraft? Then it's everything alright! Because I was also there and this is the first feeling I got as well in this weekly event called Flash Back.
Even though nostalgia is running high in the retro Flash Back Live Summit as you race your way through that magical era, let's better take a closer look to each race available that can be completed between 12-19 January:
- Escape - being required to drive away no less than 920 meters from a marked area on the map before the time runs out. [No Restriction Race]
- Buoy Smashing - where you are required to hit different floating objects on the water and collect 4,790 points. [No Restriction Race]
- Slalom - where you are needed to do slaloms between various objects placed on the ground and collect at least 4,650 points. [No Restriction Race]
- Motocross - a first off-road race on a Motocross circuit where you have to reach Top 3 to have it marked as completed. [No Restriction Race]
- Rally Cross - another race on the circuit but this time with a specific car and on a trail that is part of a previous series where you have to collect at least 23,000 points to qualify further. [Delta S4 required]
- Alpha Grand Prix - a pretty fast race on the circuit along with other 7 players where you have to get in the Top 3 to win the race. [No Restriction Race]
- Street - a basic race on the streets but where you are forced to drive an old school Ferarri and to place yourself on one of the first 3 positions to win this. [Ferrari F40 required]
- Demolition Derby - a less common race and perhaps a more aggressive task where you get points by hitting the other players in the arena and you have to be one of the Top 3 players with the most points collected to have the race marked as completed. [Fender Bulk required]
- Rally Raid - a simple and short race held on a Demolition Derby trail where you have to reach Top 3. [Bike required]
While in my previous post I failed attempting a score bigger than 100,000 points on 4 of the races, let's say that this time I made one step forward and have only 3 that didn't reach the personal goal I've set to myself.
This is a score that I usually don't have problems with, there being rare situations when I get only 1-2 races with less than 100,000 points collected, but as I always say, the Escape and Drift races are always a no-go for me because the points are well reached only by those who are cheating or are experts in The Crew 2, so basically I have an excuse for the first race which was an Escape one. š
The 5th race is a really fun one and I absolutely loved that event where the usual trails and streets are turned into Sci-Fi ones with all kinds of ramps and windows you have to jump or get into to find boxes that when you hit you get some points. There are also other obstacles and tricks you can do to win more points, but it's that kind of long race where you have plenty of things to do not to get bored, the single disadvantage being that the series was created for multiplayer games and so it's a little bit too much for only one person to get to the 100,000 points goal.
The Alpha Grand Prix was perhaps the icing on the cake with the whole Minecraft-like landscape which was one of my first games ever played, so this race brought me a more nostalgic feeling than the competitive one I usually get when racing in The Crew 2.
I actually had to play this race two times to get on the first position as I was always paying too much attention on the landscape than the race and the other players were leaving me behind, but I'm happy that I managed to show them who's the real winner. š
Honestly, I would love to have all 9 races themed like this one but unfortunately, there was just one race where I could feel the nostalgia while the others were focusing more on the classic cars, especially these from the 1980s.
But overall it was a nice Live Summit and the next week not only that will come with a new event but also with a new episode in The Contractor series which I finished a long time ago. So excited for that! š
