I have been laying off the chocolate now and fancied something a bit lighter. It's getting warm now and I wanted something cool and fresh as my sweet, so U decided to go for these cream slices.

Tesco 2 Cream Slices
"2 Puff pastry slices filled with stabilised cream and a layer of strawberry conserve, topped with icing and chocolate flavoured decoration."
These slices looked the part. Flaky puff pastry with cream, fruit and icing. What more could you ask for? Well, first of all I would ask for a laser beam or a bigger mouth (that's pretty hard considering... lol). There is no elegant way to eat these slices. You try to bite into in, but the cream gets squished and the pastry slides off in all directions. You try to cut it. Again, squished cream and uneasy pastry. Hmm. So the only way to eat this was to take the top pastry layer off and eat that. That was really tasty. Pastry was good and the icing was yummy. A great balance of flavours. So I was left with the cream and the bottom later of pastry and the strawberry conserve. There was lots of cream... lots of it! However, there was barely any strawberry conserve. I mean I would even struggle to say there was a very thin layer. It was barely there. No wonder I couldn't really taste any fruit. The bottom layer of pastry was nice like the top. I'm just glad for the cream.
These slices would be really nice if there was a 300% increase in strawberry conserve. I'm not even exaggerating. There was sod all there!! Lots of cream though which made up in a way I guess. I was just glad for the icing. It added the sweetness that I think the slices need. I would have these again but only if I'm not bothered by fruit or I'd pick something else like a cream and jam scone.
