Hello, my builder friends!
It's Tuesday so it's time to get the bone to the work in another job from House Flipper! 🏡
What I truly love about this game and I keep mentioning it, is the diversity you will enjoy even though we are talking about a simulator and we expect to see the same activities over and over again. You can basically get into a bunker today and walk through spider webs and cockroaches, tomorrow set up a sauna room without meeting any more dust or trash, and then have another job where you build a whole house from scratch. How cool is that? 😎
While I was used to get a normal job one day and then a more messy one, happily, this time we are enjoying some more cleaning surfaces just like we did in my previous renovation post where we've set up a whole house, the main attraction being the sauna part of the building.
Today though, we are facing a similar job but where the house already has its rooms set up so we basically need to change one room and turn it into a bathroom in the first case, and the 2nd into a home workshop by splitting it up.
First impression
This is the house where I'll carry out my activity, and we are basically talking about an old house where the grandma of the one who sent me the email passed away a year ago and even though her room stayed like this for a long while, my clients decided that it's finally time to do some renovations and use this space differently.
The room of the poor grandma was quite big, so the plan is to sell everything from it and get a wall on the middle of it so we can create two rooms that will have different purposes. The first half of the room will be turned into a 2nd bathroom because as big as the house is, there's only one bathroom into it, and the other half will be used as a workshop for the husband of my client.
Main corridor
As soon as I opened up the door to the house, I've been welcomed with some stairs going up and a lot of doors, but what I liked is the ambience created by the wall colours, frames and lamps which gave me a feeling of calmness so I was really looking forward to completing this job.
I won't lie saying that I focused only on the room I had to take care of because I did take a look in every room and admired everything from the distance, which was also a good exercise to know how to arrange the two future rooms so they won't look like being part of a different house, lol. 👽
BEFORE renovation
Anyway, I don't want to make you wait any longer, so here's the room which belonged to the grandma that passed away. This is basically an open space kitchen with a room where she was resting.
The plan was quite clear, namely to sell all the 34 objects we can see in the room and then we will take everything from there for the next step that has to be done.
DURING renovation
As soon as I cleaned the entire surface, a new list of tasks appeared on the right part of the monitor, right under the map.
If you look at it, you will notice there is a green line that represents where we have to build the wall so we will split the current room in two different ones, so I began by doing that and then remained on the half from the left which I started buying things to make it look like a bathroom.
AFTER renovation
I don't know how many of you remember the part from the email received where my client said that she would like for the bathroom to be elegant and functional, but since I find the bathrooms some of the most relaxing places from a house, I decided to dedicate a big part of the time spent on this job turning this into a really nice place in my vision.
Even if you have the before picture from here, you won't find anything in common other than the yellow wall parts of the room which is still a good reminder for my clients not to feel completely strange from this room until they get used to it.
Anyway, I think you already know how much attention I pay to the details, so you will find lots of things in a single room that is not that big but which might look like that if you know how to arrange everything. The burning candles and poster with the fish swimming around adds another level to the relaxing moments! 🔥
BEFORE renovation
Though, as much fun we had creating the bathroom, let's not forget that there is one more room waiting for us, which even though there are not too many things on the list, I'll do my magic not letting this seem neglected. 🤠
AFTER renovation
So along with one chair, a desk and two garage shelves, there wasn't anything else on the list but as I can't see a desk being other than with a gaming rig on it, lol, I decided to take care of that.
I also searched on the market and literally bought all the tools I found there and placed them on the shelves just so the husband of my client won't feel like something is missing.
Now after seeing how everything turned out, I do realize that most likely the desk and the chair should be empty for different repairs and things done in the workshop so I'll make sure to add one more desk perhaps right in front of the shelves for the proper work, but also keep this as a little man cave where the man can relax while his wife is taking a bath in the new bathroom. 😃
