I know that Christmas and New Year are approaching really fast and maybe these gaming posts should be happier or in theme with the holidays but the new job I got in House Flipper came with a sad story of a man who lost his wife and he had to sell their house and start everything again in a new place to forget about the dark memories.
Personally, I keep saying that I absolutely love this game - how you jump from a situation to another, from some requirements to others, and so on.
Some might think that everything is slowly becoming repetitive, but that's a little bit too early to think about since yes, I do have to renovate houses in every task but the requirements and stories behind the emails received are always different.
So, as I already summarized the email received from Mr Jack Roobins, he decided to sell the house where he lived with his wife that passed away a while ago and bought a new place that is requiring some renovations.
I haven't really got through this feeling of losing someone too often, but when I did I felt extremely lost and weak, so I kind of know how this man feels and it's my pleasure to take care of the new house so he can move there as soon as possible.
The new house of Mr Jack Roobins
From everything I've seen so far in this game, I can say that the new place purchased looked pretty decent, with not too much mess left behind, but most likely the thing that was going to take some time to complete the job was the fact that there are quite a few rooms needed to be taken care of.
There are also the two rooms for the daughters of Mr Jack who needed to be repainted with "Bright Blue" colour, where painting is a pretty time-consuming activity in this game if you don't have this skill levelled up so you can paint more walls in the same time, as well as faster than usual.
BEFORE renovation
The first door opened got me into one of the rooms that was going to be for one of Mr Jack's daughters, so I began the journey by getting rid of the trash from the ground, cleaning the surface, and then repainting everything with the girls' favourite colour.
As you can see on the list with the tasks from the right side of the image, under the map, there weren't too many requirements over here, other than having a radiator, a bed and a computer desk, but as I've had this passion for computers and gaming since I was very young, I do know how important is to have your little corner of happiness and guilty pleasures in the place where you are living, so I also purchased a laptop where the girl can do her homework or have fun listening to music, reading, gaming, etc.
AFTER renovation
Of course, the posters and flowers couldn't be missing! 😅
Honestly, I think I made a new addiction for both flowers and posters through this game.
When I was a kid I used to cover the walls from my room entirely covered with posters of different bands, singers or actors - I miss those times!
In plus, I always loved flowers but I waited a few years until I felt ready to take care of something because I always was afraid not to kill any flower with my lack of attention or not knowing how to take care of them. At least in this game, I can do it without anything bad happening, lol!
The colour of the furniture is almost identical to the ones I have at home too - I absolutely love that shade of brown mixed with white and I hope the girl will like it too!
BEFORE renovation
The next door opened got me into the kitchen that was almost finished, without too much needed to be done other than cleaning and getting rid of the empty boxes and garbage bags.
Usually, I spend a lot of time redecorating the kitchens in this game, adding all kinds of electronics, posters, and other things into it, but I really loved the minimalistic style of this room so I didn't feel like leaving a personal touch anymore.
AFTER renovation
The single thing I felt like adding was the poster with tomatoes, which hey, completes perfectly the view to the table that is also black!
And let's not forget that it's very healthy to eat fruits and vegetables as often as you can! 😃
BEFORE renovation
The next place I had to take care of, was one of the two bathrooms, which from my thinking I considered that one was going to be used by the two daughters and the other one by their father, so considering that this one was pretty close by one of the girls' room, I decided to create that feeling when they will enter into it, with some red towels, cosmetics, and a nice smart mirror.
AFTER renovation
Bathrooms are usually the least accessible places you can renovate in House Flipper especially if they already come with the toilet, sink and shower mounted, so you can't add too many things into it other than the cosmetics and usual things you see in a bathroom.
Actually, the single request was to add the towel radiator but I couldn't see a bathroom being considered as finished without a mirror, some cosmetics and a towel. 😃
BEFORE renovation
Stepping further in the new house that was going to come with a fresh start in Mr Jack Roobins' life, got me into a more sober room that I figured out it was going to be his.
Personally, I loved the purple wall on the right, but it's true that this could become a little bit too colorful for an adult, so I had to repaint everything with "Gray" and "Royal Blue".
AFTER renovation
While at the beginning I was sort of scared of how everything will look like with the walls being painted in Gray, I gotta say that I absolutely love how everything turned out!
It's a place that is pretty close to how a modern and minimalist bedroom would look for me too.
In plus, the library that was not on the list of Mr Jack, made me be able to add something new to this place and get some books and different stuff on the shelves that most likely will help both the single father and his daughters spend more time together, have fun and get rid of boredom!
BEFORE renovation
The next place I ran into was actually the 2nd corridor that was going to make the connection between everything seen so far and the other half of the house.
This kind of reminded me of the Student's House I had to renovate in my 2nd episode of House Flipper. It might be a similar architecture to the house or just the thing that I used some common elements for decorating it, but I sort of had a Déjà Vu!
AFTER renovation
As you might probably already noticed, I was needed only to clean the dirt and trash from the ground, without adding any other elements, but I always thought that people kind of neglect the corridors when it comes to decorating a house.
And I'm also one of them because both the place where I'm living and my natal homeplace have the corridors quite empty, with just some furniture where to hang the clothes and leave the shoes. So I decided to change this, at least in the game! 😀
The flower was the first one added, which by the way, I have one identical at home because that corner next to the room seemed dedicated to having a flower that doesn't need too much light.
I also added a wide mirror which I love seeing on corridors, a poster, a huge clock with a city in the background, and some decorative elements and shelves for the shoes.
BEFORE renovation
From here, we stepped into the place that judging by its size and placement I assumed it was going to be a living room with an opening to the terrace.
Happy me there was almost everything needed in a room like this and the single requirements were to clean everything and set up a radiator!
AFTER renovation
Though, after getting rid of all the trash and dirt, I kind of got the feeling of an empty room even if there were quite a few objects placed already.
So I got again into my guilty pleasure of purchasing posters and flowers and then added a TV and a library with different books and gadgets - what living room is that without a TV and library?! 😅
BEFORE renovation
Now... this is what I call a really small room!
I mean, just look at it! It's almost as small as a bathroom, lol.
Anyway, from the task list being needed to only add a radiator without the request of painting the walls in blue, it made me feel like this was going to be the 2nd room of the daughters of Mr Jack, which was sort of neglected - how sad it would be that!
Happily, I looked up on the map and noticed there is one more room so I think this one was going to be just for any visitors or as a man cave for the father of the two girls.
AFTER renovation
We all know how important passions are, and that we should never neglect these as they bring us some of the most important joy before achieving grandiose things like buying a house just for you, meeting the love of your life, buying a car and so on.
I actually decorated the room have my boyfriend in my mind because he absolutely loves cats and having a gaming station with red lighting and powerful speakers. 🙂
BEFORE renovation
The next door opened was leading me to the 2nd bathroom I expected to see, where there wasn't either too much space left for adding any additional things, other than the towel radiator that was requested in the first situation too.
AFTER renovation
However, since I said that one of the bathrooms is going to be for the girls and the other one for their father, I tried to add a more masculine feeling to this one with blue towels and a less modern mirror.
BEFORE renovation
The last but not least, here it comes the most waited room for the 2nd daughter of Mr Jack!
This is a little bit bigger compared with the room of the other girl, but seeing the "Paint with the colors: Sleepy Blue" as requirements on the task list from the right, I already figured out who was going to live here.
So I waited no more and started to clean the surface, windows and get rid of the empty boxes and other trash from the ground!
AFTER renovation
Since I have a sister and now we have the occasion to have separate rooms while we always lived together and in the same room until nearly 22 years old, I tried to keep everything as similar with the other room because when I was a kid I always thought how it would be like to have separate rooms?
My single worry was that maybe one will have stuff in plus from the other one and hence why we might have a fight starting over, lol! - I know, childish thinking...
So I purchased the same laptop for this girl too and added a few more elements just because the extra space allowed me to include a few more things in the room, but I'm sure these won't make the difference being felt too bad.
Job done!
Even if this renovation of the house started from a sad story and situation that we all will meet in life sooner or later, I think the results are going to make that family's life easier and more joyful - at least this is what I hope!
So we have one more job completed with a pretty nice income earned! Can't wait to meet new stories and people and set my creativity free in future renovating jobs!
