After having a lot of fun in this game and finally learning the basics and how everything works, it was time for a more serious job other than just cleaning here and there, which might also bring back (hopefully) nice memories for some of you.
The job that will make the subject for today's article is the one that you've probably read in the title, namely Student's house to clean up and if you've been living in houses for students during the college years, you might know what I mean.
However, being an introvert I always stayed away from those places just because I was feeling a lot more comfortable living just with my sister and having our own little place instead of sharing it with the others. Not because I'm selfish or something, because we did live for a few months with a person that back then seemed to be very close to us but I learned on the rough way that it's really hard to live with someone else especially if you have nothing in common and everybody has its own routines and habits.
Anyway, back to today's job in the game that I fell more in more in love with, especially when I need some relaxing moments and basically take a break from everything, called House Flipper.
As soon as I opened the inbox there were quite a few emails to pick from but I stopped at this one just because not too much time passed since I graduated the university and I thought it will bring a lot of memories back that I really miss from the bottom of my heart.
From the email received, I understood that I was contacted by the owner of the property that set up a house for students for many years but unfortunately the last year came with the wrong group of students which brought more problems rather than memorable times.
Even though I never lived in such a house for students, during my studying years I was visiting this kind of place with some of my colleagues who were living there and I know how wrong things can go sometimes. Of course, in most cases, these are very rare situations and I hope will remain the same, but the story of the game made me realize that everything can turn even worse if you are not careful who you accept in your property. Especially that it's the period when many are changing their friends and entourages and there are a lot of modifications in everyones' lives and behaviours.

As soon as I opened up the door, I was welcomed with a bunch of trash on the ground, but which didn't impress me too much since it's what you see in most of the jobs of this game so I sort of expected to see that.
As soon as I cleaned the floor I noticed there are 3 doors, so I was thinking: ok cool, there are 3 rooms that need restoration, what else?

So I waited no more and began with the first room that had just a few requests, such as cleaning the floor, the windows and mounting a radiator that was stolen by the students who lived here.
It's true that cleaning the windows was a new thing in this game while I was only able to clean the floor, walls and ceiling, so I was happy to learn to do something new, but I couldn't limit myself doing just these three tasks mentioned because the room would still look quite forgotten and empty.
So I decided to bring it to life with some flowers, add a TV in the corner as well as a guitar to enjoy doing something in the free time, but also make the table have more elements of what you would see in a student's room.
AFTER cleaning
Even though I was expecting to see the game continue on the same line, the next room was a total shock and a noticeable bigger list of tasks that need to be done.
That was the moment when I realized that I was wrong with my presumptions of what is waiting for me under the corner.
Along with the trash and empty boxes that made the floor almost impossible to be noticed, there was a lot of mess literally anywhere. From different pools of alcohol to stains of dust and mold, but also graffiti on the walls, which is really bad if you get to find something like this in a place which is rented.

The black painted walls were the icing on the cake.
Don't get me wrong - I am a fan of black walls because they do create a very classy look, but there has to be a balance between these and the rest of the elements you can see in the room, such as the furniture, posters, and so on. Things that were also dark in our gaming situation and made me feel a bad energy, lol.
So I decided to start by cleaning everything and then paint the walls with the colour requested by the owner of the house and then set up the radiator which was also missing in this room. But just like in the previous situation, I put myself in the place of being a student who just moved to this place and how I would feel finding everything empty without sharing any emotion or warm welcomes... and that made me add a few more elements to feel more familiar and happy living here for the next few years, such as a poster above the bed, a smart TV and mirror, but also the flowers that couldn't be missing, a book and a lamp on the desk.

The biggest surprise came from the 3rd door left where I expected to find a bathroom because what house is that if there is no bathroom? Ta-daaaa!
So from the main corridor, there is a door to... another corridor. But which this time doesn't come with just 3 doors, but a lot more, namely, seven!
That was the moment when I realized that I'm far from finishing this job anytime soon. I mean, just look at the map from the right top corner - there is a lot of cleaning and restoration that was waiting for us. Yay! More space where to set up my creativity and turn this house into a place that will be loved both by the owner of the property but also by the future generations of students. 😃

I know there were only two requirements for this part of the house, those being to remove the trash and clean the dirt that you could see everywhere, but I always dreamed to have a long corridor where you will see all kinds of shelves holding different stuff but also posters and a large modern clock, so where should I do this if not in the game?
My desire was to keep this as minimalist and up-to-date as possible because I personally feel like you get more responsible to keep a place clean when there are more things in that room, while when the room is almost empty you keep having the intention to always leave something on the floor or desk without bringing it back to where it belongs.
So my intention was to both make the next group of students feel nice in a modern and eye-catching house, but to also be more careful with the stuff that has to be returned from where it was brought. Hope that will work. 😋

The next room I took care of was finally a bathroom, haha!
Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture here with how everything looked before restoration but there was full of trash on the ground and nothing else other than the bathtub. It looks like the group of students who lived here tried to take advantage of almost anything! I am wondering where they managed to sell a WC or washbasin but that's a different story...
Personally, I always found the bathroom a very relaxing place where you have to be able to set free your stress while taking a hot bath, so what I was aiming for this one was to add all the essential elements that shouldn't be missing from any bathroom. But since it's a bathroom that most likely will be shared by both boys and girls, I didn't focus on turning it more suitable for just one gender, and actually kept it with the colours that most of the bathrooms have.
BEFORE cleaning
The next door was with another small room that can be used by one or two students, which didn't even have light. But considering how everything looked, I think it was a good thing to see this with lower visibility lol.
As always, I started by removing the trash and cleaning the floor and windows and then purchase a lighting bulb for that lamp to see what I can do to turn everything into a more pleasing place to stay even if just for a while.

I kept all the furniture that was already there but decided to rearrange everything differently to be able to add a few more elements too. The item that I found really important for a student was the whiteboard on top of the mirror, where the students can write down all the tasks that need to be done and in this way, they will keep track of everything and don't let the day pass without doing what must be done.
Personally, if I had one of these in my studying years would help me a lot to be more organized. The two furniture items I filled with both toys and different elements to have fun with, but also with a lot of books. Of course, the posters and plants couldn't be missing in this case too. 💚

Talking about a pretty big house with lots of rooms for students, there was necessary the existence of another bathroom. However, I also felt the need of adding a few more indicators on the walls showing either the exit of the house or the place where a bathroom is if you open up the door, just to avoid different situations in the first days of living that the students will have until they learn where it goes every door opened. 😁
While the other room had as the main colour blue, I decided to keep this on a similar line but with green being in the spotlight.

Because I felt like I sort of neglected having a room more dedicated to girls, I decided to focus on the next one that had to be renovated and give it a girlish feeling with more pink, roses and what I would personally like to see in a room.
I know that the walls are blue but I never seen that as belonging to a room for boys and pink to the girls, so I simply forgot about that detail and took care of the things that had to be added from here on.
The desk was empty, so I added a laptop, mice and mouse pad to be used for documentation and possible homework, while I completed everything with a big bouquet of roses that every girl loves seeing in a room.

The next room which seemed as being the most time and effort consuming was an open space kitchen + living room, where I've released my creativity once again.
I know that I forgot again to take a picture with the before looking, but there were no posters or elements other than the furniture and sofa, where everything was covered by stains, empty bottles, boxes and pizza leftovers.
After cleaning everything, I started by adding the posters and the pumpkins next to the sofa because not too much time passed since Halloween and I could still take advantage for a limited time of these decorations in the game. Then I added a few plates, glasses and cutlery so everything is ready when a student is hungry and looking for them. The food couldn't be missing, so I also purchased different cans and jars to have around for a faster time of preparing something to eat.

Even though decorating the kitchen was my favourite place of the whole house, you probably noticed that there was still one little room that needed to be cleaned and taken care of so I couldn't neglect it and changed the position of the elements fast and then added a few more elements to feel more relaxed living here.
I can only think how advantaged is the group of students that will live in this room being so close by the kitchen compared with the others, lol. 😅
Anyway, I know this was a pretty long post, but so it was the gaming session having almost 4 hours spent just for this job (you can see the time spent on the top right corner under the map).
Maybe I exaggerated a little bit with the details being just 2 years since I graduated the college or maybe it was the thing that this job represented my biggest project renovating a house so far, I don't know!
But I really loved every single minute spent here and I'm happy that I managed to turn everything into a more pleasant place for a living because we all know how important it is to feel relaxed at home during those years of studying.
