Hello, Gearheads!
How are you? What's the speed you are driving with through this week? π¨
Personally, I've been super busy lately which is always a good thing but my speed started to decrease thinking that there are two days left until the weekend which I'm sure most of you is looking forward to, aren't you? π
Anyway, since it's the middle of the week, a brand new Live Summit was just released in The Crew 2 along with two more stories in the American Legends season, which I'm also going to discuss about, as I promised in my previous post.
This week's Live Summit is called Downtown Pursuit and it's not going to follow a specific theme as it happened lately with the Mitsubishi, Porsche or American Bikers events where basically you could understand what's everything about from the title. Though, let's take a look at the 9 races you can complete from 30th March to 6th April:
- Speedtrap - being required to pass a specific radar location with a speed faster than 200 km/h. [No Restriction Race]
- Escape - where you have to drive at least 800 meters further from the starting point. [No Restriction Race]
- Aerobatics - where you are needed to fly a plane and match some figures shown while collecting no less than 2,730 points to move to the next race. [No Restriction Race]
- Hyper - one first race filled with adrenaline where you need to place yourself on one of the Top 3 positions. [Aventador LP 700-4 required]
- Hyper - similar to the previous race but where you are forced to drive a different car than used before. Reaching Top 3 it's also a requirement here. [C-X75 Concept required]
- Street - a less fast race but where you still compete against other players and need to cross the finish line amongst the first 3. [Crown Victoria Interception required]
- Drift - a race where you need to make drifts during a period of time and collect at least 68,500 points to qualify further. [Agera R required]
- Rally Cross - another off-road race where you are not forced to drive a specific car but where you still need to place yourself on one of the Top 3 places. [No Restriction Race]
- Hyper - one last Hyper race but which is held on a Street trail. You also need to reach Top 3 to win this. [No Restriction Race]
It's been a while since I completed an event on The Crew 2 that didn't really come with a theme behind, which made me lose my curiosity on this one pretty fast, but as judging before you start is never a good thing, I thought I will give it a try and take it as an opportunity to expand my collection of cars or even beat some scores which is always fun to do, lol.
Random in-game picture taken during the completion of the Mardi Gras story
As always, I started with the Speedtrap race which I usually manage to complete pretty fast reaching the 100,000 points score from maximum 3 tries, but while I've got so close to my goal from the first try, the next 4 attempts were a complete failure. I've restarted this mission for around 6 times and I never got a better score than this I got at the beginning.
Perhaps it was that I was completing it when the event was just released and there were quite a lot of other players around trying to make the mission which made me crash a few times, but since it's just the first day of the new weekly event, I'll most likely give it a few more tries in the following days.
The Escape one is pretty similar with the 8th race where you can drive any vehicle you want on an off-road trail, but where in both of the cases the races are held during the night and in the middle of the forest which will make a great challenge to focus on the barely visible path and not hit a tree or to slip off the track.
However, a first vehicle I had to purchase was this Jaguar that cost me around 750,000 bucks but which I'm happy to add to my collection since it's my first Jaguar car. To be honest, I'm not too happy with its handling which becomes pretty unstable when you take a shorter curve but happily, I managed to control the beast and hit the 100,000 points goal on this race as well, so I guess we are good even though I'm not going to use it from now on, but only if it's requested by the game. π
You'll see that there are two more Hypercar races but which have a bigger score obtained, and that's because I wasn't linked on using the Jaguar again, haha.
The 2nd car I had to purchase was around 200,000 bucks only and it's a pretty slow and ugly car for my tastes, lol, but this looks a little bit different because it's part of Interception which was the first season released in the game so it was a nice throwback back to those times.
However, its speed is pretty low and even though I didn't hit any buildings or had any crashes during the race, I still didn't manage to get 100,000 points which is pretty disappointing, but at least I had a good time competing against other cars from the Interception season.
And last but not least, there was that race with a plane that becomes pretty common during the weekly events lately but which was very easy because you only need to get your plane higher or lower to match some figures that are always the same. The single race that was literally impossible for me and it's the first time when I can't finish a race during the Live Summits, is the Drift one where I had to get over 68,000 points making drifts.
Just to make an idea of how good I am at this discipline, my biggest score ever is of 45,000 points so as many times I tried to replay the race, I still didn't finish it in the meantime. Which is kind of sad. π
π What's your experience with the drifting races? Are you good at them?
Perhaps you can share some tips and tricks to become a better player too. π

Gold: βCATCH ME IF YOU CAN?β UNDERGLOW
Silver: VISUAL PARTS SET: KOENIGSEGG AGERA R
Bronze: 150K FOLLOWERS
Level: 1857
Completion races: 8/9
Races with a score over 100,000: 5/9
Currently placed in the summit: 235/795,685
Anyway, time to move to more exciting news in the game and fun activities to take where speed is not that important anymore because I had the pleasure to complete two more stories that are part of the American Legends season, which of course, couldn't come other than with prizes at the end of the journey.
So the first story completed is called Mardi Gras which comes with the following 8 steps:
- Souvenir Store in Algiers Point
- Uncle's Farm
- Garage in Dallas
- Construction Site
- Trailers Park in Daytona
- Store in Natchitoches
- Family Home in Swamps
- French Quarter
While in the previous week I had a few moments when it took me a while to find some of the locations, it seems like I got experience zooming in and out on the map and I found the places requested this time a lot faster, yay! π
Even though the reward for this story is not as cool as the others especially if you are not a fan of vanity items, do keep in mind that if you already own it you will receive its value in your account which is always a cool thing because you can use those points as you want.
Reward: Carnival Confettis Smoke (Common)
The 2nd story completed is called The Lucky Guy 2 and it's more of a continuation of The Lucky Guy 1 from the previous week which perhaps will continue with a new part of the story every week considering that The Lucky Guy 3 was just released today.
However, The Lucky Guy 2 story comes with a total of 3 steps only:
- Water tank's house
- Lifeguard house
- North Miami's Marina
While at Mardi Gras you will notice that sometimes you will have to drive even 30-40 km in order to reach your next objective, The Lucky Guy 2 is a lot easier with the points being no further than 15 km away from each other, so if you are sort of in a rush, you can complete this one pretty fast.
Reward: 67,500 bucks
And before I bring this post to an end until the next week, I want to say that I already reached lvl 38 in the Motorpass which is a great thing considering that only 14 days passed since the season was released but I think the excitement already talks for itself. π
Anyway, if you are not a fan of the daily challenges which take a while to complete and will bring you just one more lvl, do keep in mind that there are the weekly challenges where each one completed will add 2 levels to your current one, and also the 9th race from the Downtown Pursuit which will take you 3 levels further. Game on! π₯
That's all for today, guys! Thanks for taking time to read and stop by!
And don't hesitate to share your thoughts down below as I'd love to know what do you think of the Drift races or anything else you've seen in my article! π
