ESPAÑOL
1) “Aunque la mona se vista de seda, mona se queda.”
Este es un refrán ampliamente utilizado en Venezuela, es muy común, y el mismo lo que quiere señalar es, que por más que una persona quiera aparentar ser decente, instruida y educada, sino lo es por carencia de principios, o apenas tiene alguna formación que es muy superficial, siempre se le notará su falta de educación, de elegancia, de valores y de buenas maneras; de allí que se recurra a una imagen a un símil tan gráfico como es un simio con un traje de seda, jamás dejará de ser simio así su atuendo sea fino. De esta forma, por más que un individuo trate de aparentar, siempre se le verá lo marginal que es; por lo que es un refrán muy aplicable en todos los ámbitos, tanto en el mundo real como en el mundo virtual, en donde abundan personas que quieren demostrar clase y no tienen ni una pizca de ella y se ven francamente ridículas. Un refrán muy actual.
2) “Ahora sí se perdió el saco con los cangrejos.”
En las poblaciones costeras, en donde se pescan mariscos, por lo general se usa una nasa, que es un artilugio artesanal hecho como una cesta cónica o rectangular. Esto se sumerge en el agua, se coloca un cebo y se deja por un día o dos, luego se regresa en la embarcación, para extraerla del mar y sacar los cangrejos, langostas o cualquier otro marisco que haya quedado atrapado y meterlos en un saco de arpillera gruesa. A veces, con el movimiento de las olas, el saco cae al mar y entonces se pierde tanto éste como su contenido, por eso es preciso atarlo a la embarcación. Por tanto, cuando se utiliza este refrán, quiere decir que se hizo algo incorrecto o se tuvo un gran descuido, que implicó una pérdida irreparable que difícilmente se podrá recuperar. Es un refrán fatalista y pesimista, pero muy cierto.
3) “El burro carga en el lomo, el bachaco en la cabeza, el que no lleva la carga, le parece que no pesa.”
Sin dudas un refrán muy largo, jajajaja, pero muy cierto, ya que hace referencia a quien solo aquel que vive las circunstancias y asume las responsabilidades de una determinada situación, es quien sabe realmente lo difícil o complicado que pueden ser estas. Es un refrán similar al que dice “Cada quien conoce las goteras de su casa”, por eso, antes de criticar a los demás, hay que pensar que no conocemos todos los detalles de la existencia ajena.
4) "El que ofende escribe en agua, el ofendido escribe en piedra; el que ofende se le olvida y el ofendido se acuerda."
Este refrán también es extenso pero MUY ACERTADO, y es que la gente que es ligera con la lengua, calumniando a los demás e inventando historias no verdaderas, quizás se les olvide lo que dijeron o hicieron en cierto momento, pero algo es seguro, aquel que fue objeto de su desdén y de su mentira jamás lo olvidará, y la vida misma también se encargará de cobrar esa ofensa al calumniador. Nadie se va de esta vida sin pagar sus errores y sus faltas, eso está 100% garantizado.
5) “El que pisa en tierra llana, nunca tendrá tropezón. ”
Es un refrán que expresa que aquella persona que es de buen proceder, correcta en su vida y en sus asuntos, difícilmente le irá mal y caerá, pues siempre andará por camino plano, libre de obstáculos, y si éstos se le llegan a presentar, podrá eludirlos. También es un refrán muy verdadero.
ENGLISH
1) “Even if a monkey wears silk, she stays a monkey.”
This is a widely used saying in Venezuela, it is very common, and what it wants to point out is that, no matter how much a person wants to appear to be decent, educated and educated, if he is not because of lack of principles, or just has some training that is very superficial, his lack of education, elegance, values and good manners will always be noticed; hence it resorts to an image to such a graphic simile as an ape in a silk suit, he will never cease to be an ape even if his attire is fine. In this way, no matter how much an individual tries to appear, it will always be seen how marginal he is; so it is a very applicable saying in all areas, both in the real world and in the virtual world, where there are many people who want to show class and do not have a shred of it and look downright ridiculous. A very current saying.
2) “Now the bag is lost with the crabs.”
In coastal towns, where shellfish are fished, generally a nasa is used, which is an artisanal contraption made as a conical or rectangular basket. This is submerged in the water, a bait is placed in it and left for a day or two, then it is returned to the boat, to extract it from the sea and take out the crabs, lobsters or any other shellfish that has been trapped and put them in a thick burlap sack. Sometimes, with the movement of the waves, the sack falls into the sea and then both the sack and its contents are lost, which is why it is necessary to tie it to the boat. Therefore, when this saying is used, it means that something wrong was done or a great carelessness was made, which implied an irreparable loss that will be difficult to recover. It is a fatalistic and pessimistic saying, but very true.
3) “The donkey carries the load on its back, the ant on its head, the one who does not carry the load does not seem to be heavy.”
Undoubtedly a very long saying, hahaha, but very true, since it refers to who only the one who lives the circumstances and assumes the responsibilities of a certain situation, is the one who really knows how difficult or complicated these can be. It is a saying similar to the one that says "Everyone knows the leaks in their house" , therefore, before criticizing others, we must think that we do not know all the details of the existence of others.
4) "Who offends writes in water, the offended writes in stone; the offender forgets and the offended remembers."
This saying is also extensive but VERY ACCURATE, and it is that people who are light with their tongue, slandering others and inventing untrue stories, may forget what they said or did at a certain moment, but something is certain, that who was the object of his disdain and his lie will never forget it, and life itself will also take charge of collecting this offense from the slanderer. Nobody leaves this life without paying for their mistakes and faults, that is 100% guaranteed.
5) “He who treads on level ground will never stumble. ”
It is a saying that expresses that a person who is of good conduct, correct in his life and in his affairs, will hardly go wrong and will fall, because he will always walk on a flat road, free of obstacles, and if they come to him, you will be able to bypass them. It is also a very true saying.
