Moving swiftly along from Tina … in Spot #86 is an artist which has forever left me rather cold. But 4.9 million people were willing to shell out their hard earned cash on the album… so who am I to question the quality and / or talent of the man.
Canadian rocker Bryan Adams , to his credit , espoused the use of synthesizers and stuck to his guitar, in a time when the majority of bands were morphing into ‘new wave’. His album Reckless was a melodic rock mix … released in February 1985 and amassing 4.9 million in sales.
Most readers will know most of the tunes on this post …including …{friendly wave in the direction of the deep southern hemisphere…jumps up and down hoping to be seen} ….
Probably NOT the best known , but certainly the most successful track off the album was Heaven which made it to #1 on the US charts
Heaven
Denim jeans and a t-shirt … and ‘the boy next door’ look. I have always rated Bryan Adams as a Bruce Springsteen wannaba but nonetheless this next track is for me one of the best Adams songs … and possibly the most well known, Summer of 69 made the US charts without getting into single figures.
Summer of 69
I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it 'til my fingers bled
Was the summer of '69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit, Jody got married
I should've known we'd never get far

So I thought I could forget about Tina for a year or so …. But here she is again. This time in a duet from the album… a moderately successful single which I felt was appropriate to play.
It’s only Love
All in all a fairly pleasant listen without coming close to leading me down the music rabbit hole.
As always, thanks for stopping by and your support is fully appreciated
