Here's my selection of music to share with you today. As usual, we have a variety of styles, all things that I enjoy listening to from time to time.
Let's start with some 80s music! This was hugely popular when I was in school and regardless of your opinion of her as a person or the style of music, her voice was something special. I think this is one of her best.
Cyndi Lauper - True Colors (1986)
This song reached #1 in the US, #3 in Australia and #12 in the UK.
It has a very solid message of being who you are no matter whether other people like it or not. In this time of social turmoil, it's important to remember that each of us has a part to play in the world around us.
Instrumental music can be lovely for background music when I'm writing. This is an artist that I listen to from time to time and one of my favorite videos from her.
Lindsey Stirling - Master of Tides
Talk about a story without words! I can listen to a lot of her work before I get tired.
Eurovision is always a bit of a gamble, but sometimes great music comes out of it. This bilingual number is one of those.
Ruth Lorenzo - Dancing In The Rain (Spanish/English - 2014)
I haven't looked to see if she's done much outside of Eurovision, but I really love this piece for its theatrical sense as well as the quality of her voice. She could span generations in style as well.
