Greetings to all fellow musicians and the audience of Open Mic! During the last week, we could listen to artists that were telling some stories through the music. Stories from real life, fiction stories, fairy tales, legends, love stories and all other kind of them. It is not a surprise, as the theme for the week was Storyteller. It was set by

Historias de la vida real, historias de ficción, cuentos de hadas, leyendas, historias de amor y otro tipo de historias. No es una sorpresa, ya que el tema de la semana fue Narrador - Storyteller. For me, a good story represents a set of experiences from the real life shared by a storyteller. It is a gift to be able to tell those tales in an interesting way and bring a lesson to learn through it. I was lucky as I had the opportunity to enjoy those anecdote sharing sessions by several generations in my family. Starting from my great-grandmother and later, the next generation, my grandmothers. They used to share the moments from their childhood and youthful days and I remember that I enjoyed a lot listening to them.
Para mí, una buena historia representa un conjunto de experiencias de la vida real compartidas por un narrador. Es un regalo poder contar esos cuentos de una manera interesante y traer una lección para aprender a través de ellos. Tuve suerte porque tuve la oportunidad de disfrutar de esas sesiones de intercambio de anécdotas de varias generaciones de mi familia. Empezando por mi bisabuela y más tarde, la siguiente generación, mis abuelas. Solían compartir los momentos de su infancia y juventud y recuerdo que disfruté mucho escuchándolos.
During this week I saw that many members of the Hive Open Mic community have that gift, to tell stories freely through music. We will see in this post some of them. Surely, I would like to feature many others, but stay tuned as the admin will make his article tomorrow and include his selection. Also, the spotlight artist of the week will be featured! Looking forward to reading his publication!
Durante esta semana vi que muchos miembros de la comunidad Hive Open Mic tienen ese don de contar historias libremente a través de la música. Veremos en este post algunos de ellos. Seguramente, me gustaría presentar muchos otros, pero estad atentos ya que el administrador hará su artículo mañana e incluirá su selección. Julio brings here a story that can happen to anyone: break a string on the guitar. But it is important to continue if it happens during a gig... there are some great examples of how musicians solve this problem. The lyric is interesting and funny and the musical part is wrapped into blues style. Good work Julio.
